A good win.
After the sending off there was only going to be one winner but still 5-22 is good.
The defence played well.

A big game on the 22 June now something for the lads to look forwards to.

Offaly - E Cahill;
C Taylor, D O’Toole Greene, P Delaney;
D Doughan, B Conneely, J Hardiman;
D Wyer (0-1), P Guinan (0-3);
J O’Toole Greene, E Nolan (2-7, 0-4f, 0-1'65), R Hughes (0-3);
A Cleary (0-1), O Kelly (3-1), D Murray (0-3, 2f).

Subs: C Kiely (0-2) for J O’Toole Greene, C Freeman (0-1) for D Murray, E Parlon for J Hardiman, C Cleary for O Kelly, L Langton for D Wyer.

Leinster final was always the objective for this group. Westmeath beating Killkenny was an extra advantage but Carlow beating Laois in the biggest bonus of all. Wexford were favourites at the start but will get it hard against Dublin.

4 weeks to the semi final surely gives Doughan, Molloy to get back fit and Kiely a chance to go training!!! (if we where playing any team other than Kildare he would have started)

What it great to see is Offaly scoring goals.. Nolan and Kelly are a handful, bet Eamon Kelly would love them in his squad..

well done to all involved , hopefully in 4 weeks C Doughan C Molloy will be back along with C Kiely and L Langton .
E Nolan would be a big addition to our seniors even at corner forward ahead of J Mulrooney .
he had a brilliant game last night

I wasnt at the game last night but even before last night he would be ahead of a lot more than J Mullroonry for selection.

I have reservations over Langton. And he was 4th sub on last night which questions the managements faith in him.

Give the lad a chance. He was minor last year so he may not even be 19 yet. He was the most effective player on last years county minor team, scored a huge tally when Na Fianna won the minor championship and made his senior debut off the bench scoring a goal this year. He has speed, skill and an eye for goal. Surely he is to be encouraged. Looks to be a committed lad also. Give him a chance to fill out a bit and develop. Time enough judging him in 3,4 or 5 years time.

Just to note, I have no connection with the lad apart from seeing him hurl a few times.

Great shooting regardless of the opposition, well done.

So would I be right in saying semi will be on same evening that Ireland play Italy in the Euros? Well done Leinster council!

Was delighted to watch an Offaly team win well...

Carlow will probably be a step above Kildare who were a bit naive especially the midfielder who, when already on a Yellow, chopped & got a second making the last quarter very handy... The card was a bit harsh and his first was a mystery.

Offaly played some good hurling, the 2 low balls from Ronan Hughes to Kelly & Nolan, to slap in goals in the first half were ideal but I still heard lads shouting to "drive it in"...

Now Kildare started with a small, blocky full back allowing Kelly & Nolan who rotated at 14, to field high balls but manymore broke & were cleared while the few accurate low ones were easy picking for the full forwards,,,

Cillian did well after coming on at HT ( he was on as a bllod sub for P Guinan for a minute before the break) without having to over exert but L Langton never got nto it duting his 10 minutes at the end.

A small step but an important one...

Is that not the date that semi is fixed for?

Just to confirm that per Leinster GAA website our semi final v Carlow is scheduled to be played on Wednesday 22 June in Carlow at 7.30 pm and Ireland's last group game in the Euros is v Italy also on 22 June at 8pm Irish time.

Maybe the might switch the soccer match if we ask nicely !!

I taught Offaly has home advantage?

And the foreign sport might be over for Ireland by 22nd of June. (more than likely)

Kaiser Chief - I just checked Leinster Council website and it definitely says the game is fixed for Netwatch Cullen Park in Carlow. Maybe this is subject to change ???

Apologies for bringing up "garrison games" but even if we lost first two games in Euros we would still be in with a shout going into our last game as 4 third places teams will qualify for last 16, for what its worth.

Maybe common sense will lead to a change of date. Surely Leinater Council were aware of the potential clash with The Euros when deciding fixtures.
