It turns over possession, It passes responsibility to someone else, It doesn't involve soloing, or handpassing, or any of those modern fads.

Now you know why Offaly hurling is the dead duck it is.

I know once children get past U10 hurling, ground hurling becomes more or less redundant, apart from maybe three positions on the field - goalie, full back and full forward.

The likes of Clare have decided to implement strict small sided games at Under 8, 10 and 12, as directed by their full time staff.
Under 8 is going to 7 a side.
I think this is a great idea and is one area Offaly could implement overnight to improve the playing and learning outcomes for one age group across the county.

Check out Clare GAA's facebook page.
They seem to have courses on EVERY week, a weekly coaching column and general coaching and games news from around the county. It is pretty impressive

I was talking about training drills that Forghty show and talking about, not about playing ground hurling in games.
But some see the word ground and think AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW and have a mental breakdown.
these are the same people how talk about progressive hurling training.
So Martin Forghty isn't a progressive coach?

Offaly spend time and effort in bring one the best coach's in county to training our coaches and we have choose not to listen to his instruction.
How can we have a development plan when the experts we bring are not listen to or belittle by people ??

No need for a PR expert if Davy acted like an adult.
