Didn't make the game was at the hurling , sounds like the lads battled hard and were the better team. 3 sendings off for one team is very rare, no harm let them know we won't be a push over come championship. Antrim is the new focus , keep the heads and play ball like we have all league and the lads will get the job done .

Today's Independent lists the lineouts, as they do. It states Offaly's first substitution was "N Dunne for J Ledwith (32)". Thing is, Nigel Dunne started while John Ledwith didn't. Can someone clarify what happened please?

I believe John Ledwith replaced Nigel Dunne (not the other way round). Following Paul McConway's dismissal, Ledwith was drafted into the defence, with Dunne, who started at full-forward, being 'sacrificed'.

Thanks FT.

Incidentally, I have just noticed Offaly haven't beaten Longford in the NFL in 7 attempts since 1990.

Did we not give them a fierce beating in '97 en route to winning promotion and a Leinster? Could be wrong but seem to remember that

That game was the first round of the Leinster Championship that year. In Tullamore, Offaly cut loose against Longford and put up a big score, despite the heroics of corner forward Dessie Barry on the Longford team.
