Conceding only four goals and less scores than Wexford and Limerick in the league campaign Offaly's defence has undoubtedly tightened up. While in attack we have scored 5-88 and of that total S.Dooley has scored 4-48. At the minute we are too dependant on him. Others MUST come to the table.

That's some dependency on Dooley. I would think that this is an area to work on.
I would also say that we are not rowing in with enough points from midfield, and would like to see the amount of points conceded from this area of the field.

Dempsey can take a lot of the credit for the lack of goals over the last few games!

Tipp will be a big step up, they have been very impressive indeed and the standard in 1A has been unreal so far this season. But is a bonus game in the preparation for the championship.

We have a lot of work to do but Sid can feel content with the season so far.
Issues remain with the amount of absentees from the panel, but I would hazard a guess that it is not all Brians fault.

That was some drive to Ballycastle. I'm F**ked still.
So to go play a match and win it is great work.

The match itself should have been over after 10 mins. Offaly were 2-3 to no score up and had miss a few more points and Dooley had missed an easy goal chance.
After that the 1st half was The Offaly half back line clearing the ball and the Antrim defender clearing it back. Antrim scored a few long range points. Eanna Murphy was running the game.

The second half Offaly had the wind and they were shocking bad. The Defence lost all shape. The forward just stop working. physically Antrim bully us all over the field. Leaving a very frustrated Offaly Management team.

But at the end of the day its a win and that all that matter.

it will be over very quick next weekend if the same display is giving again toxicity, would you agree that Kiely, Brian Carroll will have to start the next day, any sign of Tommy Carroll coming back

No sign of Tommy or Paddy Murphy. Kinsella had a knock before the match. Stephen Wynne was carry off and was limping after the match.
We need to Man up and be ready for a battle next weekend. Our big forwards need to begin using there size and power. Dooley,Bergin and Currams are not small lads. 6 or 7 times in the match they had Antrim lads line up of a shoulder and tackle instead of lay the man out.

Of the 4-48 Dooley has scored, is there any way to find out how much of that is attributable to frees or does anyone happen to have that stat handy?

Game fixed for Tullamore next Sunday TBC. Offaly footballers are playing Longford in Longford next Sunday in a crucial league game. Some fans will have to make a choice, don't suppose the hurling could be fixed for Saturday?

Offaly are at home to Tipp next Sunday at 3pm, Offaly footballers are away to Longford in a crucial league game on Sunday as well. Some fans will have to make a choice of venue next Sunday, is there any chance the hurling game might be held on Saturday, to avoid a clash of fixtures?
Some will say in reply slim and none!

Thanks for that Tox!!

Even with the frees we could still stand a better distribution on the scoring. Hopefully that comes with the championship.

Either way, nice to have taken 3 wins out of the league. Can't see that as anything, but positive.
