D martain
E coughlan
K kinahan
M hanamy
B whelahan
H rigney
K martain
P delaney
J pilkington
J dooley
j troy
m corrigan
B dooley
p horan
p carroll

that my best 15
full back was very close but i would pick k kinahan because of his calmness power and ability under the high ball was superior to e coughlan along with having to mark dj carey during his career but i couldnt leave e coughlan out .

i had the same problem at centre back , p delaney was a great attacking centre back but h rigney was by far the best defensive centre back i have ever seen . both deserve to be in the best 15 .delaney was a fine midfielder too .
the rest of the team is easy enough except for a straight choise between b dooley and j dooley and billy may not have had the pace of joe but he was a better corner forward in my opinion.

i would love to fit in A fogarty p fleury joackim kelly too

would you leave Horan out kaiserchief, i know eveyone will have different opinions but horan was a leader and a great hurler, don't forget he won railways cups for leinster at centreback in the 70's
his switch from fullforward to centre forward won the 1985 all ireland for us as Keady was on top at centreback till horan moved out.

i remember him scoring a goal alot like john fentons again limerick not as far out again laois in 1981
also he was outstanding in the leinster final again wexford in 81, wexford put two or three on him that day to do him Horan was a hardy bastard and would be on any offaly team, Rory a clubman of mind but he never done anything of note at fullfoward for offaly as good as he was and he was good i don't think he would find a place on the best 15.

agree totally p horan was a real leader , a warrior , we have never had a full forward like him since ,i can rember him against limerick in birr and he beat limerick on his own . its a understatement to describe horan as hardy but he could hurl too

he could hurl, but he was a hardy buck, the battles with Rynaghs and Camross in the 70's my father used to tell me you could hit Horan with a handly of a shovel and he would still get up. on the hurling side yes he was a great man to get a goal when you want it or get a point, he was unlucky in the 84 final in thurles even doe we were beaten well for a finish Horan missed two goals in that first half with one just going over the bar if both them shots went in it would have been a different final. also his display in the draw game again kilkenny in 1985 was class.

13. Shane Dooley.

its a hard call for some position. While No.4 and No.5 is easy.
Try picking one for the same time that never played in an All Ireland Senior finał??

tox that is some back line and what a midfield ,i dont think there are many counties that could pick a team of that quality from 1 to 9 . your forward line look weaker without johnny dooley
