The GAA clubs (and by extension, the membership) of Offaly have given the outgoing executive a resounding vote of confidence as most of the officers will be returned unopposed at the forthcoming AGM. You wouldn’t have thought this would be the case at the height of summer, but still this is unsurprising.
There are just two ‘new’ nominees from outside the existing executive, both for some of the more ‘minor’ positions. Two officers have indicated they wish to step down but are still nominated in classic Irish “ah ya will, ya’ll go again” fashion.
Chairman – unopposed
Vice Chairman – unopposed
Secretary – stepping down but is still nominated. Outgoing assistant secretary also nominated
Assistant secretary – two nominated, the outgoing and the present Coiste na nÓg rep.
Treasurer – outgoing nominated, as well as the outgoing assistant treasurer who wishes to retire
Assistant treasurer – outgoing is retiring but is still nominated, as well as the outgoing development officer
PRO - unopposed
Central Council delegate - unopposed
Leinster council delegate (2) - unopposed
Development officer – one new nominee
Cultural officer – stepping down under the ‘5 year’ rule. One new nominee
Coaching officer - unopposed

I think this thread should be referenced anytime in the future when (or if) complaints about the way things are run arise, if they happen to arise.
I'm now worried that Endangered Kenny will win the next election. From the brink of revolution, riots and people taking to the streets, the status quo will carry on as if nothing ever happened.
