Would Antrim if they topped the group not be at home too after playing them last year away too. Hopefully a few double headers in OCP on a hot summers day. As for the idea of telling Brogan and the Dubs that they have to travel to Tullamore for a championship match it will put the current water meter protests look tame.

On the Antrim venue - the answer there is No. Qualifier venues generally do not form part of 'home and away' arrangements, and nor do they affect existing 'home and away' agreements.

Antrm would most likely be at a neutral venue. Offaly played them in Parnell Park in 2010, when last they met in Leinster championship. There is one proviso - Galway and Antrim have mooted the possibility of hosting home matches in the Leinster championship. I' not sure how far this has actually gone.

Worth noting that last year Antrim actually beat Laois i the 'round robin' stage. That was in Portaloos too.

we are getting way ahead of ourselfs again it seems, Dublin would play anywhere they would play offaly in Walsh island, its 1981 the last time they were beaten outside of croker in leinster. the Dubs don't mind going down the country never did, i remember Cork's Billy Morgan in 1983 saying that Dublin should come down to Cork for the replay as they always get games in croker, they did and kicked cork out the gate as well.

just go back to this years minor game most said we would have a chance with getting Dubs out of their own patch and in tullamore game over 20 minutes, i have watch The Dub's since the late 70's early 80's and they didn't give a shit where they had to play. the battle in Omagh a few years ago when Tyrone try to throw their weight around the Dubs gave as good as they got that day to, so for some who think that getting Dublin out of croker will make it easier to beat them are living in cuckoo land.

I just heard that Séamus McEnaney (banty) was the name the the committee put to the county board. They then overlooked this and put Pat flanagan in themselves.

whats the point of having a committee..........

CB are just going to do what they want anyways.

Hosting Dublin footballers would be a great occasion. That's if the Dubs followers can desist from vandalising cars parked on the main street, as happened in 1980 and 1981.
This will be Dublin train arriving in Tellamore:

Venue for Longford/Offaly vs. Dublin has been confirmed as Croke Park.
It seems that no-one bar the Leinster Council are in favour of this. Most Dublin fans would love a championship away day.

Lonford/ Offaly vs Dublin is a 4pm start, it is a double header with Dublin vs Galway hurlers which has a 2pm throw in

Was anyone at the Offaly challenge match vs the Rossies yesterday in Athlone? Offaly were beaten by 4 points.

From Hoganstand:

Realistic enthusiasm from Pat.

Seems determined to put an end to the blame game.

No harm in that.

Best wishes in 2015!!!

Flanagan relishing 2015
31 December 2014

New Offaly boss Pat Flanagan. INPHO
Pat Flanagan says he will not be making excuses if his Offaly side come up short in next season.

The Faithful County have been hit by a player exodus over the past few seasons which has seen Ross Brady, Sean Pender and Richie Dalton all walk away from the panel, while Michael Brazil and David Hanlon have also confirmed that they will not be available for the 2015 season.

Star forward Niall McNamee has also hit out over the lack of facilities in the county, but Flanagan is keen on putting an end to the excuses as he prepares to lead his native county into a new era.

"The bottom line is that when things are not going well everything can become an excuse. When things are going well you probably wouldn't hear anything about training facilities,” Flanagan told the Irish Independent.

"We need to knuckle down as a unit, I'm talking about players, supporters, the whole lot. What we have has huge potential and we need to use them to get ourselves to a better position. The time for making excuses is gone because basically all it is doing is hiding behind a wall."

As for the players not making themselves available for the county, Flanagan believes that the supporters are the ones losing out.

"My point to those guys is that we need fellas who want to play for Offaly,” he said.

"The guys that didn't come back I suppose you would hope they would have changed their mind but they didn't. Offaly supporters would have wanted to see all of those guys back in but we have to work with what we have.”
