Offaly vs. Kerry under floodlights

Post by Bord na Mona man »

Offaly agree to Kerry floodlit request
Thursday, January 13, 2005

Offaly have agreed to Kerry’s request to play their National Football League clash on February 12 under lights in Tralee.

The game was originally pencilled in for Sunday, February 13 but has been brought forward to the Saturday night to facilitate live television coverage.

It will be Offaly’s first competitive game under floodlights, although they have played numerous challenge matches at floodlit venues such as Gracefield, Ballycumber, Ballinamere and Walsh Island in recent years.

That'll be a good Saturday night on the tear down in Tralee.
Don't forget (as if we would) to remind them of '82 - They'll be ripping us off with accommodation prices, so we might as well.

Weekend in Tralee.

Bring it on!!

I haven't been at one of these saturday night matches yet - they're meant to be great gas altogether. (Depends, if we get hockeyed it might be less fun!!)

I think a weekend odyssey could be a blast. Granted some of us have divided loyalties, being married to Kerry women etc., but sure they Shark will allow all creeds to stand in.... :D

That's all right then. Sure when you're down at the game you can wear your white 1982 jersey and give the modern Carroll Cuisine one to her....

No Bother. Actually she can wear the one I 'borrowed' from the Under 21s, it has a chance of fitting her :)

Kerry is a great spot. Pity there's no floodlights in Killarney.

I'm a bit dependant on a second answer. I'm going myself, but as to whether it's for one night or two, or one body or two, it depends on whether others can get off work.

There's a few good offers on Pigsback on four star hotels for that weekend though. For those that want to bling it up and impress the women that (a) they're bringing down or (b) they meet down there. :D
