Along the same lines, does anyone know what is going on with the Minors in terms of management?

Thanks for that Joe Bloggs.

Wishing Joe Errity the very best in his new position. Hoping he can build a team (of players and backroom) that can advance the cause.

A lot of work to do here. Onward!!!

Best of luck to Joe in the year ahead. Itll be a tough task as these lads wouldnt have done too well at underage as a group. However i think the U16s did well last year so maybe there is talent there coming.

On another note, are there any good hurling coaches out there unattached in the county for coming year?

Ah yes the great GAA shroud of secrecy surrounding challenge matches continues.
We live in the greatest age of communications and information technology and the lads that run the show can't even manage to get info out there in relation to games. If they were clever and made people aware of games and charged say 5 Euro in they might actually get a couple of hundred through the gate.
A quick look at the Offaly GAA Twitter page finds its very well up to date on dancing competition results (Scor na nOg) but notably short on information surrounding the intercounty scene

On out a that with your €5 charge!! Would be nice to be able to attend and get out of the Xmas drudery around the shops!!
The everyday fans get stung enough, the least the CB could do would be to let people know that these games are on. Would be nice to have a look at a few new lads getting there chance.

In general, there is a GAA tradition of presuming that anyone who wants to go to a game will somehow find out by telekinesis if a venue or throw in time has changed. It's driven me demented in the past, going to cover a match or just to watch, and rocking up to the gate to that sinking feeling that there's no one home and that the game is either over, postponed or else taking place at an unknown location twenty minutes from where I am.

Two weeks before championship and I can understand the logic behind managers wanting to keep games secret an away from prying eyes. Informing people of matches at this time of year when you're giving lads a lifeline away from Christmas shopping, or else giving poor diehards with withdrawal symptoms something to look at, would be no harm.

A good opportunity to play the younger lads with the older guys tying knots over the weekend. Congrats to our good stalwart :D

How did the game go? Seems a decent win with a very inexperienced side. Have we something to work with here..
