Under 16 Fr Manning Cup

Post by manfromdelmonte »

What is this about Offaly being unable to field a team this evening to play Roscommon in the Under 16 Fr Manning Cup??

Is this is true, it shows what a shambles Offaly are at underage
only the best...

How could this happen? I thought Offaly spent years trying to get a team entered into the Fr. Manning, and now that it seems they're in this happens?

Very disappointing to hear this if it is true. the competition is a prestigous one and numerous counties are trying to compete in it but the organisers keep it to the original few who were in it from the outset. It acts as a very good guide for minor, is ultra competitive and Offaly should be in it given their location. If they got in and didnt field, something is wrong somewhere, be it with development authorities, management or minor board for organising fixtures against it???I would love to know what happened. As we have said previously, Offaly need to start replicating the likes of the Tipperary and Roscommon development models. Tipp won the munster minor again this year beating Kerry in the final for the second time this year, having already beaten them in the first round!!!!!
