ballyfore look to be doing pretty well at the moment!this championship is wide open and anyone of up to 8 teams(shamrocks,s/bridge,ballyfore,doon,bridgets,rhode,raheen and birr) could win this!really looking forward to the next round as it will tell alot about who will be at the business end of the championship

Ballyfore looked very good last night. No really outstanding players but worked very hard and once they got ahead never looked like letting it go. Raheen looked a long way off the top form . And without paddy rigney (injury) we looked poor up front.

That was a huge result for doon didnt see that coming

Doon 2-12 - 0-8 Clonbullogue

Doon could of won this by any amount they wanted if they had there shooting boots on. The missed 3 goal chances in first half, including a penalty, and off the top of my head must have had 12+ wides in scorable positions. Clonbullogue got off to a great start going 4 points to 1 up after 10 mins and then did what Offaly did last sunday, Fell apart. Doon got a goal just before half time to leave it 1-4 to 5 points. Doon then came out in the second half and just completely dominated every sector of the field. Jimmy coughlan got into the game more and caused a lot of damage. Must have scored at least 4 from play in second half.

Was very impressed by Doon. They worked the ball very well from the full back line up to midfield and then would give excellent ball into Coughlan and Donnie Ryan. Doon had 26 players togged which is brilliant achievement considering the size of the area.
Clonbullogue on the other hand will need to do something quick or they could find themselves Junior A next year. Last year they blew Doon apart in first round and were a kick of a ball away from a County Final, now they are struggling big time. People are saying that we are ravaged by Emigration and Injury. Although this is correct,we still had a good enough team out last night. The only blame is on themselves and management as they did what Offaly did last sunday - Beat themselves.

Havent seen any other teams yet, but I expect Ballyfore, Shamrocks, Doon, Shannonbridge all to be at the business end of championship
Twice we had the chance, but well get one more

That's two penalties missed in 2 games for Doon. Are they Liverpool? Did Donie Ryan take the peno?
Shane Gavin. Signed out of respect for players and all involved with Offaly.

Yep, Donnie buried it off the crossbar, came back out to the half-forward who caught it then went to hit only for the keeper to make a great save. Bit of scramble when a Doon player then got it and buried over the bar.
