Junior Football Championship

Post by DAF »

Daingean 1-12
Ballycommon 1-11

Daingean were winning by 8 points with about 10 or 15 minutes left and Ballycommon made a great comeback and missed a free to snatch a draw at the death.Ballycommon look a hell of alot better than they were last year they have some nice footballers on their team.I have to say I though the ref played a ridiculous amount fo injury time. in the second half.

Any other results from this championship.

Good score put up by DAingean, and they are motoring nicely, any word on Paul O'Rourke coming back into the set up? They would need a player like him to get them past q final stage as up front is where they are lacking(despite this scoreline!!)

I think Daingean still have 4 games left.
Theres 7 teams in that group as far as I know & they've only played 2 so far.

Fargo, i probably should have gone for something a little more profound for my 100th post, but alas, i wasn't even aware that it was my 100th.
Maybe a from-the-heart cry for passion from our footballers this Saturday would have been more appropriate. Sure it only seems like yesterday that i made a similar call to arms on the eve of the Monaghan match last year. it seemed to do the trick, although i got a serious slap on the wrist for that little tirade......

Was there some controversy over whether the Ballycommon Tullamore match was a draw or a 1 point win by Ballycommon?

Theres one man I know who could surely help out with that little query, and he goes by the name M_Dempsey.

Havent seen much of him here in a long while. Not since I outduelled him back in the summer of '11. My Halcyon days.......

Kilcormac/Killoughey 1-11
Daingean 1-8

K/K were excellent they had the wind in the first half and were 1-9 to 1-2 in front. In the second half the sucked the life out of the game, although they werent clinical in the forward line in the second half and could have been caught. The 2 Healions cleaned up in the midfield and James Gorman and Slevin (the centre forward) were excellent as well.I didn't see either Dan Currams or Conor Mahon playing which suggests their is more to come from K/K although they may get distracted by the hurling later in the year
