Well done Shane - Fair play!!!

Great win.
Eventually there would have come a stage where the Irish Open win would become a millstone. He'd become known as the fella who won one tournament as an amateur.

Into the Top 75 in the World Rankings and earning a 2 year exemption on the European Tour is a good weekend's work.

Golf's hottest player Brandt Snedeker is out of next week's Accenture Match Play in Arizona with a rib injury - and that means Ireland's Shane Lowry is now in line to play Tiger Woods rather than Rory McIlroy.

I pity the fool (Tiger Woods).

Discussion heard on the 18th green at the Accenture Match Pay in Arizona:-

SL: Fair play to you tiger.

TW: Thanks buddy.

TW: Say Shane, where are from in Ayerland?

SL: Clara Tiger … mighty spot…

TW: I think I’ve heard about Whites Bar … isn’t that in Clara? Thats where they drink Bud, play darts and cards and worship Man United all though the weekend right?

SL: Tis surely Tiger …

TW: What are the chicks like there?

SL: Right up your alley Tiger!

Picture the scene in a couple of week's time.
Tiger Woods sitting under the tv in White's, dressed in a Utd jersey, gazing up at the screen, occasionally turning around to roar back across the pub.

"Lads, did I tell ye I put a fiver on Van Persie to score first?".
"Has anyone booked the taxi to Tellamore?".
"I'm off to the jacks. Layve that pint there! It isn't finished"

Well lads, a big day for Shane. Nothing to lose in this one for him. Hope to see plenty of birdies. Took him at 15/8 with pp. With a bit of luck I think he could do it

Up against another Nordie. What were the odds of that? Playing very steady.
