by the weak group
Offaly took on Wicklow in a challenge and won 0-12 to 1-8 in Gracefield on friday. Ciaran Mcmanus was centre forward and kicked 0-6 (2f)and looked dangerous throughout. The team that lined out was very much experimental.
Kevin Meehan;diarmuid donoghue, kevin lynam, james gallagher; tom o connor, scott brady, nigel grennan; david lowry, pauric bracken; leonard mooney, ciaran mcmanus, john reynolds; gary mahon, rory guinan, thomas deehan
subs used- sean ryan, aidan keenaghan, karol slattery, pauric kelly john mollin
early doors yet but here would be my team for next year
pauric kelly- certainty to start and good leadership

nigel grennan- very tight marker, speed needed in corner
shane sullivan- good campaign for rhode in this position and good reader of game
sean casey- probably surprise choice but could well do a job. certainty on under 21 and could make the cut depending on performances in that championship
barry mooney- automatic choice.great mobility and experience
neville coughlan- playing well in challenge matches here. tenacious tackler and super fitness
karol slattery-same as mooney.captain for coming year. only problem is almost to versatile and can play anywhere but if moved to attack would leave a huge void in attack
alan mcnamee vice captain for the year. certainty to start and hopefully can bring his rhode form into championship
scott brady short on other candidates here. big and strong and could work well with mcnamee
john reynolds- played well in league campaign last year in this position and should make it
ciaran mcmanus- this could be position for him. mobile and covers acres of ground could do a mcguigan job from here
pascal keelaghan better out on half forward line in my opinion can hit hard and track back as he so often does with club
colm quinn- roving role for arguably the best passer of the ball in offaly
niall mcnamee- great potential but needs to bring his true form with him this year
thomas deehan- a fit deehan can unhinge most defences and could be a handful
