Club Championship Draw

Post by Slieve Bloom Man »

Club championship will be held tonight at county board meeting. Not exciting as it used to be, but I'm still looking forward to hearing the groups.

I always thought that the championship draws were on the first meeting in February. Let us know whenever you find out the groups should be interesting. Does anyone know if there going with the same format as last year?

Any sort of seeding in place SBM??

Are Finalists and Semi finalists being kept apart in the senior hurling?

Very handy draw for Coolderry and Birr. Both teams should walk through that group very easily. Maybe a chance for both teams to blood new players to senior and to play around with their team selections a bit.

Plenty of interesting games in the other group. Obviously Lusmagh and Belmont will struggle but the other 4 should be fairly evenly matched. Who comes 3rd and fourth in this group could be vital really as they will have to meet Coolderry and Birr whilst first and second will have games against Kinnitty and an improving Shinrone under Joachim, which although not a given but they would have a real chance of winning.

For Belmont, Drumcullen, Lusmagh and Shamrocks the draws are very tough and will have them already knowing they realistically will be fighting relegation. Hard for them to be too optimistic after last night.

Anybody got the Junior and intermediate groups?

Can anyone throw a bit of light on this Ballyfore situation? I was told at the weekend they had 15 new lads and thought it was a joke. Who are the new players and where are they from? Its about 6 or 7 years ago since they had a 2nd team. They are in our group in the intermediate and I can tell you now that we are big trouble this year I can't see us winning 1 group game....dreadful draw we got

think it's actually only 8 players. This is the fallout from last year when the soccer players were told to choose soccer or GAA cos they wouldn't be allowed play both. When their junior a team played daingean in the quarter final last year they were missing half of the team - mainly young lads - who were playing a soccer match. they only had 3 subs on the day.

Although i have heard since that some of them haven't kicked ball in a few years.

How are Bracknagh going to go this year. ye have been struggling for numbers now for years but always hard beaten. Any chance of Davy Walsh swapping the ref jersey for a blue one anytime soon!!
