Is it true they beat us? Don't watch it most of the time. Anyone know what sort of team we had out?

Kilmurray’s first game ends in defeat
Friday, December 03, 2004

Kevin Kilmurray’s reign as Offaly football manager got off to a losing start when his experimental side succumbed to TG4’s Underdogs by 0-11 to 3-8 at the DCU grounds on Saturday, November 27.

But despite the defeat, Kilmurray will be reasonably happy with the performance given that he was minus the services of players from Rhode and Shamrocks who were playing in the Division 1 League final at the same time. Ciaran McManus missed a late penalty, but even if it had gone in, it would have had no bearing on the outcome.

Among the new players to be tried out were Sean Casey, Richard Fox, James Keane and Diarmuid Donoughue.

The Offaly team was: Colin McNamara; Ciaran Kiely, Conor Evans, Sean Casey; Karol Slattery, Scott Brady, Nigel Grennan; Joe Quinn, Ciaran McManus; Richard Fox, John Kenny, John Reynolds; David Egan, Alan Mulhall, James Coughlan. Subs: James Keane, Diarmuid Donoghue and Rory Guinan.
