Like old times with a 1st half scuffle involving Ger Rafferty and Graham Geraghty in this friendly under the impressive new floodlights in Geashill. The game didn't start until well after 8 o'clock because of all the speechifying, albeit all of the speakers put across their message well. Matt Connor turned on the lights after a lot of people had spoken.
Both sides were missing their U-21 Players because of the upcoming weekend Leinster semi-final between the counties.
Offaly shaped well on occasion with Aidan Keenaghan looking pacey at Number 5 and the forwards taking the odd decent score - for instance Paschal Kellaghan scored 2 nice points in the 2nd half. The game was level near the end and then Offaly, probably with more motivation on home territory, edged it out.
