Re: Club football and hurling managers 2033

Any word on hurling managers? Brian caroll over coolderry. Tullamore staying the same? Birr the same mgt. Ballinamere same Kinnitty looking Clareen looking Kk the same mgt. Shinrone? Kilcormac/Killoughey - Judging by some of his interviews and the general vibe I would say Shane Hand will step aside...

Re: Offaly Minor Football and Hurling 2023

Birr would be far stronger than Kilcormac this year.

Re: Club football and hurling managers 2033

Surprised by the St Rynagh's decision. Liam Dunphy and James McGrath are highly enough regarded. Maybe they left of their own regard. Denis Byrne seemed to be making some progress with Coolderry and they improved on 2022. Both management teams only got 1 year which is probably not ideal. Apparently ...

So enlighten us then. What are these clearly inferior primary schools not doing that the Boys School in Birr is doing?

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2023

Similar to Tullamore not on the same level at all go back to bed. A very small pool of GAA in Birr with borders all around the town. Most of their players go to school outside of Birr in that could be the main problem. So Birr's woes lie at the doors of the primary schools outside of Birr. Wow! Tha...

Re: New club football format

I presume the 4 losing Q-Finalists go into the relegation semi-finals??

If so, we could have the farcical situation where a team wins it’s group and gets relegated!!

Everyone qualifying is the adult version of a primary school sports day.

Re: Offaly Minor Football and Hurling 2023

I’m curious to know should it be 2 Lusmagh/Kinnitty,1 Seir Kieran/Drumcullen and 2 Shinrone/Ballyskenagh-Killavilla because we are discussing minor players?

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2023

Well if you go through the teams in the Senior A it’s hard see it. Seir Kieran - no chance Kinnitty - no chance Tullamore - no chance Belmont - Slight chance with everyone back fit and the thing going well Coolderry - no chance Birr - Slight chance with momentum behind them and Emmet Nolan and Eogha...

Re: Offaly Intermediate Club Hurling Championship 2023

I think that is very harsh they were more than competive senior in 22 and ran some teams under 10 points. The lack depth yes but I think they wouldn't be far off tullamore Kinnitty and Clareen. Thanks for that reasoned contribution. We are a small club providing sporting opportunities for our playe...

Re: Offaly Intermediate Club Hurling Championship 2023

Clodiagh Gaels have had a couple of seasons at Senior A and were out of their depth across them all. I can’t see any development changing that. For example the team who was relegated from Senior A this year beat CG by 17 points in the 2022 relegation final. So if the worst team in the 2023 senior ch...

Re: Offaly Intermediate Club Hurling Championship 2023

Clareen weren't defeated by Bray. In recent years Seir Kieran were the only team who I felt were equipped to do well in the Leinster Intermediate Championship. I was actually surprised they were defeated by Bray Emmets in 2019. Kinnitty may have also made decent progress in 2020 but Covid put paid ...
