Re: Offaly Senior Footballers Championship Thread

Really enjoyable evening of football last Saturday. A pleasure to watch a committed and positive display from the Offaly footballers. If we can manage to get our act together at board and management level, Offaly can become a competitive force in football in future years. We haven't stopped producin...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers Championship Thread

It is bullshit, and rather than going good for hurling, it is going to reduce even further the number of top counties. Bad, on so many levels.
Genuine question POTH - do you think Offaly are entitled to be labelled as a Top Hurling county?

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers Championship Thread

Definite opportunity to secure what would be a morale boosting win for the footballers in the Qualifiers.
Also a chance for Offaly supporters to get behind the team and management who I've no doubt will prepare the team in the correct fashion.

I'm looking forward to it.

Completely concur with the above.

His time will come. He is ready to a point, but he still has some developing to do.

Re: U20 football championship draw

' the smallest pick by population would have been that of Wheery We've had this conversation before :D but I stress again that the above nugget is not relevant. Census population doesn't come into it if you have a core group of 30 lads that have been together since childhood. if Wheery had 35 lads t...

Re: Numbers

Nearly 9,000 in Edenderry and ballyfore and they can't put a hurling team together, shocking
There was minor and under 16 hurling teams in Edenderry this year my friend. The foundations are been laid once again for hurling in Edenderry, have no fear.

Re: Numbers

As far as I know the parish of Edenderry extends westward to Esker Bridge which to me looks to be in the townsland of Eskermore? It ends at Kilcumber bridge on the road to clonbulloge. The Kildare county boundaries define the parish, East and north. Also the rhode parish begins at Ballymacwilliam, a...

Re: New Managers for 2018

To be fair, expecting IT Tralee to do anything major in the Sigurson Cup; well that's like expecting Clonmore Harps to compete for senior championships.(No disrespect meant towards Clonmore)
a fatwa will be declared on your head by the Ayatollahs of Clonmore!!!!!

Run for cover!!! :D :D :D

Re: Offaly SFC Structure a Joke

Too many dead rubbers.

Prolonging the agony for some teams and the previous poster is right when he says there is no championship feel to the games.

The real stuff only starts when the quarters and semi's are played.

Re: Offaly GAA - in Crisis

I have removed the question mark at the end of the Subject line of this thread. Safe to say we are now in a crisis in terms of Inter County Hurling and Football in this county. On the plus side of the ledger we have an amazing County ground and the new training facility in Kilcormac is nearly ready ...

Re: Offaly SHC

Clubs voted for it to come back in after 2 groups of 4 last year, but personally I am inclined to agree with you. It is madness and there will be a fair few dead rubber matches coming up in the next month or so.
