Re: Leinster Under 20 Hurling Championship
Offaly won, which you’d scarcely believe. Even more than that, Offaly went up to Parnell Park, where Dublin normally horse us out of it and bossed them for the evening. It’s a rare a day you’ll see Offaly make the bulk of the clean catches and win most of the rucks. And the team that does this usual...

Re: Offaly v Sligo Round 2 Qualifier
As people have outlined, this was a very good display from Offaly. The performance contained all the hallmarks of a committed and hard working team. Great off the ball running, nearly always an extra Offaly man at every ruck and Offaly's option taking was top notch when the ball was being moved forw...

Re: Offaly v Leix Round 3 Qualifier
I know that we’re due an away game, but does anyone else think that it’s complete BS as to why Leix get home advantage? They should have pulled for the team to play WH then reentered LX to the bowl and whoever comes out first gets home advantage. It would seem to be fairer, then again …… That being...

Re: Offaly v Leix Round 3 Qualifier
Offaly played Leix in Portleix in 2006 in a Round 4 qualifier on foot of a home and away agreement. Surely it comes to Tullamore this time?

Re: Leinster Under 20 Hurling Championship
Last meeting (u21) Leinster Final 2016 - OCP?? Yep, but the previous meetings in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2011 were all Parnell Park if I recall correctly. POTH would know better. Oh really? 3 years in a row in Parnell Park!! Didn’t realise that. Best of Luck to them wherever they play it, carrying the...

Aye, that's the obvious and most likely cause, but people in Offaly would rather hear about quick fixes that require little or no work.private joker wrote:The simple reason for lack of success in the county is that the work is not been done at club level. End of.

Re: Offaly v Sligo Round 2 Qualifier
The usual health warnings apply here. A couple of months ago in the league Sligo had nothing to play for and Offaly were battling for survival. Sligo, who were down to 14 men, actually led at the end of the 70 minutes. I can safely say Offaly have improved since then, but they are still within Sligo...

Re: Offaly U20s Football
I agree with the posters above that long term it will be a good thing that these two are playing Under 20's only right now.....they are been allowed develop at their own age group. but cripes almighty I'm still thinking back to that meath game in Navan......run the two of them in with 10 mins to go...

Re: Joe McDonagh cup
The sad part is that this was Offaly fired up, at home and with a point a prove. There wasn't any bag of tricks to be unlocked by a change of manager. We are genuinely struggling with many of the fundamentals and this puts a limit on the possibilities. All Joachim and his selectors could have done w...

Great win!
Imagine what the margin would have been in Birr with a line up from proper hurling clubs.

Re: Joe McDonagh cup
Antrim would want the game in Birr given that their record is 4 wins and 2 losses in the 'fortress'.greenairfield wrote:Talking to people who are in the know they are saying Offaly want the Antrim game in Birr..interesting if so.
