Re: NHL Division 1B 2019
I think this could be a good thing for your hurling in the short term. I 've been on this forum a good number of years and it's been nothing only room and gloom and talking about beatings and where we are going etc etc. Being in a lower division might allow us to actually implement a long term plan ...

Re: NHL Division 1B 2019
Hi all. it was a huge battle today and as a carlow man i m hugely relieved to have got over the line. As a man with links to some of the offaly players/living there for a dozen years and to see them all wanting to do nothing only wear an offaly jersey from 12/13 years of age, it was hard to see them...

Re: Relegation final: it's all down to attitude
I suppose Division 2 survival was always going to come down to the relegation playoff anyway. And here we are. Still, it could be worse, and the win last week in Carlow had brought with it a modicum of optimism. Better to be facing Carlow like this, rather than having lost a battle on a filthy day ...

Re: NHL Division 1B 2019
A Carlow perspective... So it comes down to this! Really looking forward to sundays game as from our side of things it has the potential to be a huge day for hurling in our county. A win would not only keep us safe but the prospect of a q final would be great from a supporters point of view as it wo...

Re: Walsh Cup 2019…ish
Ah, I wouldn't mind James, he talks before he thinks the odd time but a passionate man.. Our lads happy with the win yesterday. A few lads coming back from injury and a few out still, but we had a strong enough panel out. I think we ll be targeting the last 2 games to stay up. A lot of shadow boxing...

Re: O’Byrne Cup 2019…ish
Hi all. From a Carlow perspective we d have been disappointed to loose - not that it mattered in the competition but with a decent team out and having a lot of possession, the one point difference was too tight. Good game - first under new rules I ve seen. We possibly are further down the line in te...

Re: Leinster Club Hurling
Great win for Coolderry over those absolute knackers! Love the forum, love Offaly Hurling. Am not an MLR man, but from a neighbouring club who love nothing more than scelping MLR! But would like to point out that they wouldnt be regarded as a dirty team at all down here, too soft at times if anythi...

Re: 2017 Walsh Cup
Hey, I m from carlow! You were the ones who didn't know oisin kelly was with lit! Not so long ago carlow it only had 15 for some of DJs first league games. As for brian Lohan and especially Davy fitz doing it for the benefit of their County, you are sadly mistaken! You and I know that there's a grea...

Re: 2017 Walsh Cup
As for Fitzgibbon/county thing, well I think one poster said to look at the ul situation - Clare mentor, multiple Clare scholarships! Ucc too are dominated by cork/Munster players. Some college mentors tend to look after their own. Also some will let some high profile players away with a bit more th...

PS they could be same age at a given time but are definitly born in different years and this would obviously mean that lads had year more at minor.

Re: Offaly hurling manager??
Greenfield, del morkham is the same age as daniel currams, Stephen Wynne, killian Leonard, mark Egan etc. Them other lads that you named are a different age group - I had that group with del for 3 years at dev squad level.
D horan is older than morkham.

Re: Offaly hurling manager??
Are ye basing his 8 backs approach on an u21 semi when he was up north as he never set us up like that!! Or the last antrim team that we beat 2 yrs back in relegation match. He's a huge hurling man and is at matches all year and has his finger on the pulse in most counties. Jayus its easy do that no...

Re: Offaly hurling manager??
As a carlow man i would have the height of respect for Kevin Ryan as a coach/manager. Won us promotion, a christy ring, we defeated wexford in national league for first time in i dont know how long and had other decent results. He made us competitive anyhow with a reasonably talented bunch of hurler...
