Re: Offaly GAA is in Some State

Townman you are really making an ass of yourself with such comments. I don't know if you read the interview but Paudie's enthusiasm for and love of hurling shone through. He was not having a go at Offaly. I'd imagine it was more a case of regret on his part about our county board's failure to make u...

Re: Offaly GAA is in Some State

Even a dual county like Offaly can neglect its hurling and coaching tradition, with Butler finding them the county that calls least. http://www.irishexaminer.com/sport/gaa/hurling/interview-paudie-butler-former-national-hurling-coordinator-318391.html Paudie Butler lavishes praise on every hurling ...

Fantastic win for Offaly tonight. Well done to everyone involved. Could people please stop this rubbish that we don't have the hurlers in Offaly?

Re: Offaly v Leitrim

Very lucky to get a draw. We were outplayed in the second half. We need to tighten up a lot in defence. Our lack of tackling throughout the field and tracking of runners is a worry. A few supporters on the way out summed up the display as a "wake up call". That is exactly what it is. I'm s...

Re: U21 Home Advantage Lost

Doon Exile summed it up well. Very poor stuff from Offaly, poor use of possession, too many unforced errors, poor in the tackle, lack of discipline. Eoin Carroll was the only player to take the game to Kildare. The decision to play Peter Cunningham as sweeper when a man down, seven points behind and...

Re: 2015 Walsh cup

Townman, what I mean by a proper chance is a reasonable run in their best position. As I said I don't think Healion has ever played full back for Offaly though I could be wrong. Mahon and Currams have been in and out of the team. Anyway, my main point is that ideally the best players should be playe...

Re: 2015 Walsh cup

Well said Once Off, we all need to be mindful of not making personal remarks or insinuations about players. Del is a tremendous hurler and I for one am very sad to see him disillusioned with the way he was treated. I look forward to him hurling with Offaly again when we get a new manager.

Re: Rhode in Leinster - 2014

LS, did it cross your mind that it was precisely because Rhode changed their gameplan that they were so poor last Sunday? They were all over the place defensively and when they did have possession they had no attacking potency. Surely if they played their normal game they would have been more comfor...

Re: Rhode in Leinster - 2014

Yesterday was embarrassing. What we saw over the first twenty-five minutes reflected all that is wrong with Offaly football over the last few years. No power, no fight, no cohesion. Complete lack of ability to win possession, either primary or secondary, around midfield. And, as Bracknaghboy so righ...

Re: Kilcormac-Killoughey in Leinster - 2014

I wonder did many of ye listen to the commentary on Midlands Radio of the match. I thought it was shocking bad. I was tearing my hair out trying to follow what was happening. The worst bit was at the end where he told us there was a line ball to KK, then thirty seconds of virtual silence and then a ...
