Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
Didn’t see the game but the team looked fairly experimental so I wouldn’t read too much into the result, the bigger worry would be your point about the physical condition of the team… It was more a comment on physique/size. Laois had bulls of men all over the field, think leon fox was the only one ...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
Forwards not giving our backs any relief at all Physically, look miles off where laois are Contested well, its the first week of jan nothing won or lost this time of the year Great to see few new lads get game time Could do with getting some of the senior lads from last year back involved to add som...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Solid win last night, only caught the second half Laois had a massive physicality advantage. They’re probably nothing spectacular in respect to whats out their nationally but it was striking how much bigger a lot of their men were. How much that will be a factor I don’t know but if the league is aro...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Shane Tierney moved to Australia a couple months ago, don’t know what the timeline would have been like but he could possibly have left the country by the time the squad was being pulled together.

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
I would imagine the expectancy would be that it would be a similiar budget as last years plus the €60k, as opposed to the county board making some sort of saving. Only way the hurlers can improve on last year is to get promoted up, couldn’t have got much closer last year. Think the comment about the...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Cathal was listed at number 29 for the Ryan Cup final, didn't appear. If he is fit, that's a backward step after starting for the team for the last couple of seasons. Cheers Lone Shark! Would be disappointing alright for sure. He was one that i thought could add a good bit of physicality. Hopefully...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Any word on Kieran Dolans injury or how he’s getting on?
Was watching NUIG in league final earlier, is Cathal Donoghue not playing with them this year?

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2023
Off the top of my head, clifford in kerry obviously, sean kelly in galway, hyland in kildare, roscommons goalie this year was from their u20 final team We’re division 3. Its the perfect development ground for young talent, there’s much of a muchness between all the teams unlike in div 2 where theres...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
Dont want to over egg the pudding but that withstanding, very important game for us this weekend. I don’t subscribe to the theory its a free hit at all. This is the level we will need to get to fast if we aren’t to suffer an immediate relegation next year from the league. We’re not likely to bridge ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2023
Throw in those u20s t’f*ck and see how they do 1 from that team starting yesterday and another 2/3 leaving the panel. Screaming out for big men and morgan tynan and ed cullen nowhere to be seen. Thanks to management and players for their efforts this year Ps superhans not sure how long you’re postin...

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2023
Before anyone says anything, scrambling to get a draw against a division 4 team isn’t a good result 👍 To come back the way they did it is , doesn't make much odds what divison there is , offaly and Laois is always a big game , Small time attitude, sorry. If we are serious about being a div 2 outfit...

Re: Offaly Minor Football and Hurling 2023
Does anyone know the difference between the green team and the gold team that we submitted to play in the underage celtic challenge tournament?
Is it to do with the areas of the county they’re pulling players from or is it the relative strength of each team?
