Some interesting games in the coming year, theres no denying that. I fancy Rhode and Tullamore to come out of group 1. Edenderry wont be too far away though. Ballycumber and Ferbane will be competitive but not enough class to beat the top guns. Gracefield to top Group 2 and i have a feeling Doon cou...

Offaly hurlers 2006
Mullins Hoctor Oakley Franks Rory Hannify Claffey browne Cordial Molloy Cassidy Brady G Hanniffy Carroll Hanrahan Murphy Im aware that this team has it faults. All county teams need a half forward line to compete on puckouts and thats why ive gone with a dubious line. Hanniffy and Browne are needed ...

Sorry LS but i disagree. Darby is part of a good Rhode team with good players around him. I thought he was given a torid time in the county final especially when Molloy came on and he had been in trouble up to that aswel. From Rhode the only new recruits id be looking at are Cassidy and Hope. Even a...

Offaly County Panels
Is there any new talent that should be brought into the Offaly hurling panel?
I was reading LS's names as possibilities for call ups in the football. Dont really agree with Darby, Dooley, Donoghue, Bannon. Average club players at best.
Surely theres more players than what was named?

I disagree with some of what untouchable and LS have said Rosney- no way. Mahon- not in defence anyway. McManus- NOT a defender. Foy- Miles away from county standard. Surely some players from the last 4 teams. Rhode: Cassidy, Kilmurray, Hope. Shamrocks: Coughlan, Leonard Mooney a must, Brian Monagha...

What should the county football panel be for 2006? What does the lone shark think?

I thought it was the best county final in years. I must admit i was certain Rhode would walk away with it before hand, Rhode are a quality outfit and this was their 3rd final in a row. They may have got out of jail on the day but it certainly made for entertaining football, fast, tough, close encoun...

Im not slagging off the other teams, im just saying that this Rhode team are far ahead of everyone else. like i thought Tullamore would put it up to them since the Blues are usually a very well organised team thats hard to beat. But Rhode steamrolled them. My point being it cant be good for Offaly f...

Miles Ahead
Rhode are miles ahead of the pack. With Kelleghan back another hammering is on the cards like last years final when they trounced Gracefield. How did they get so far ahead of everyone else?

Rhode Firepower
Rhode have too much firepower for any team in Offaly. To be quiet honest they are in a league of their own at the min. Anything less than an 8 point win for Rhode would be a suprise. McNamee has still been putting up big scores all year so i think all this rubbish about his groin is exactly that rub...

The Untouchable a true great
As a regular reader of the hoganstand website i would be delighted to see the return of the grat untouchable. That sight needs a shake up badly and he is the best man for it.

Rhode are Flying
Very impressed with Rhode at the weekend. They absolutely demolished Tullamore all over the park and make no mistake about it that Tullamore team is quiet strong. Rhode have great strenght in depth also. I hear Kelleghan is back for the final, whats the story with that, i thought that a straight red...
