Re: Padraig Boland voted in as Chairman

Dont know Padraig personally either (he is much too young & I'm long gone) but I wish him and his Exec all the best.

A word too for Tubber man Joe Higgins. Is he the first CB officer from his club and is Padraig the first Ferbane County Chairperson ?

Re: offaly 2013

OY should stick with the "home-grown". Living in another county I witnessed the problems "bringing in" can cause and the "Sons of" did not do much for us. Of course there is the odd genuine transfer but its a long way back to such as Mick Ashe and Mickser Casey !!! Just...

All Ireland Champions

Naomh Ciaran Ladies Football won the All Ireland Division 1 Féile title yesterday. This is a fantastic achievement for an Offaly Club ( Offaly county teams have long been graded Div 3 & 4 So a Div 1 title was hardly imaginable). Has an Offaly team ever previously won a Div 1 title at Féile? I se...

Re: Hurling Championship

Well done Brosna Gaels.

I was long gone from the Parish before you even started but its great to see hurling flourish. I well remember our first attempt, Novice Junior it was called and I was subbed at HT !!!!!! So its brilliant progress & long may it continue.
