Re: O'Byrne Cup 2013
Offaly 1-11 Laois 1-8 Offaly were by far the better team and could afford to miss a penalty.Performance in the first half was excellent and although Offaly slipped in the second half it was an improvement on last year at least the players look fit this year. The positives were Niall McNamee who loo...

Re: Daingean GAA 50th Anniversary 1962 Team
Ryot, The Daingean Dynamo, the tribute book to Tommy Greene, doesn't give the lineout to either county title win (neither does the Daingean GAA site), but the book does publish the 1962 team photo, with names. The names (in order of the photo) are as follows - Johnny Brennan, Joe McCann, Peter Gree...

Re: Media/Public Relations
Local Media coverage is also improving. The Tullamore Tribune has this year started more indepth analysis of championship games and I particularly like the additional sections where they comment on the venue facilities, whats next for both teams, man of the match, referr rating, moment of the match...

Media/Public Relations
I just thought it was worth giving a well deserved pat on the back and give credit where credit is due to the noticable improvement in the PR side of things in the county in the last 12 months. Offaly GAA now has a completly funtional and regularly updated facebook page, twitter account and website(...

Re: Intermediate Football Championship
I am still bitterly disappointed after the game Friday night! From the point of view that the season started so poorly one cannot but be impressed at how the team turned things around but at the same time if could have been an awful lot better! Even with all the emigration, and depletion it really l...

Re: Intermediate Football Championship
Cappincur, Ballyfore and the Bridge must be rubbing their hands and rightly feeling this championship is wide open and it would be no suprise if any of them win it.[/ quote] Dismiss Bracknagh at your peril. I fancy them over our boys tonight. Bracknagh won 2 games, drew 1 and lost 2 in the group st...

Re: Junior Football Championship
K/K hammered Edenderry in the first of the quarter finals. They seem to be going very well this year as opposed to last year. Will be very hard beat. No other team putting up similar scores

Re: PROGRESS!!
Another good news story over the weekend being that the new Offaly manager, McDonnell, and his selectors organised player meetings on Sunday last for next year. I would safely say this is the earliest preparations for the following season started and it is very pleasing to see. I don't have any deta...

Re: Intermediate Football Championship
Bracknagh v Cappincur, Friday the 7th Septmber in Gracefield at 6.45pm. Scandalous. I can't speak for Bracknagh but I know Cappincur players who work in Dublin. Combined with Friday evening traffic, how are such players supposed to make Gracefield pitch for 6.15pm at the latest???

Re: Intermediate Qtr Final Shamrocks v st brigids
I'll sit on the fence like a can of Ronseal for this one! Both teams will have got a serious wake up call after losing their last round fixtures. Could be a great game. Scott Delaney went off with what looked like a cruciate-esque injury agaisnt Cappincur. He is up there with their best players. Any...

Re: Junior Football Championship
The odd thing about this playoff is that while they had to do it by rule, firstly Ferbane would have finished second no matter what margin they won by - and second of all, there is a case to be made for saying that you'd be better off losing and playing Clara. They haven't been as good in the secon...
