Re: Offaly V Kildare 2nd round of LSFC

Ah lads, what are ye talking about? Who watched Offaly in the league this year and thought Maughan was holding lads back for the Championship? We are probably as bad as we’ve been since the mid 90’s, with no sign of a good m U20 coming through to get us excited like we had back in 1995 which laid th...

Re: Byrne v Duignan

I think the criticism of Michael Duignan of his work with the media of late makes no sense!! He used his reputation as a pundit as well as a County board chairman to go on off the ball and highlight a few glaring issues with the GAA’s handling of county teams training/ not training since lockdown en...

Re: Byrne v Duignan

Michael Duignan was on 2nd Captains last Monday saying that he’s learning as he goes as there was no handover from the previous Chairman. He seemed to imply that their trying to get more funding from Croke Park to try and fund some of the initiatives that they have as he is looking to implement a si...

Re: O’Byrne Cup

I think beating Westmeath in the semi final is crucial as we have really made them our bogey team over the past 5 or 6 years, so a win at this stage of the O’Byrne cup could only have a positive impact on the squad and on management!! Promotion from Division 3 has to be the main objective for this y...

Re: Kehoe Cup 2019/2020

Great to see us getting a few wins under our belts at this time of the year, it can only be good for morale in the squad and get lads a bit of confidence... Can’t be underestimated how big a year this will be for Offaly hurling as now that we’ve dropped down we need to bounce right back up again oth...

Re: Byrne v Duignan

Just to clarify, i’m not saying Offaly to win Liam McCarthy by 2022...but at least be back in the All Ireland hurling championship and be competitive!! Plus i’m talking about the end of the 2022 championship which is 3 championship years away...that’s 3 years potentially of Michael Fennelly managing...

Re: Byrne v Duignan

So now that Michael Duignan & his group have got into power what will be the benchmark in the next 3 years to prove that they were the right people to take over and have done an amazing job in progressing Offaly forward!! I suppose some milestones should be: 1) Offaly senior footballers qualify ...

I think Darragh Corbett & Ronan Hynes from Shannonbridge should be brought in for the footballers.

Re: Football league 3 2017

Let's be clear on something, Offaly weren't as bad as the Armagh defeat indicated, we've been more than competitive in every game in the league, but the comments made by the 2 club officials had nothing to do with the defeat to Armagh, it was just an attack on Pat Flanagan that was clearly preplanne...

Re: U21 football

Well done to all players and management involve in beating Wexford, right now in the county we'll take any win we can get and we really needed that win to keep some kind of optimism going in the county. Dreadful night to have to try and play football, but a win is a win & we move on to fancy Lao...

Re: National Hurling League 2017

Jaysus Timber thanks for the vote of confidence, sadly I'm not actually in the country this year as I'm over working with me mate Trump making America great again, once we've that done, I'll see if we can do something to make Offaly Hurling great again too, Donald said we should start by put up a wa...

Re: National Hurling League 2017

It hardly takes a genius to point out that we are where we are, Offaly hurling has been on a massive spiral downwards since we took a massive beating in the All Ireland final to Kilkenny back in 2000, in the time since, we've never once appointed a high profile manager who could come in and bring a ...

Re: Offaly hurling manager??

Just as a matter of interest, why are Offaly playing challenge matches against teams like Waterford or Clare for example...every year we do this and come away having been given a huge beaten, so what do we think we learn from that? It can't do anything for team morale and certainly going to get lads...

Re: U21 Home Advantage Lost

Anyone got idea of how the U21 team are going? Tough game against Kildare on Thursday, especially now that's it's away from home.

The bookies have Kildare as warm favourites @ 1/2.

Re: NFL Offaly V Wicklow 1/3/15

Crucial game today...a win would see us back top of the table and with Leitrim, Carlow & Antrim all to come to Tullamore we would be giving ourselves every opportunity to make a league final & get promotion!! I think it'll be very tough in Aughrim today...we have an awful record over there, ...
