Re: Junior A Football
K/K and Ballycumber also drew.
I want to hear more from M_Dempsey, he sounds like a particularly sharp tool.

Re: new football manager
I think we should be looking at someone like Ben Affleck to come in & do a job for us.
His rugged good looks and charm are sure to make any man want to go that extra mile in search of a Leinster championship!!

Re: Junior A Football
Tullamore lost a Division 3 league semi-final last weekend to Daingean. This is largely (although not entirely) Daingeans second string team to my knowledge. I know Tullamore were short a few too, not sure how many or who they were even. Is Tullamores junior championship team much different than thi...

Re: Ferbane/Bemont Underage
Well done to St. Vincents too. Didn't go their way in the end but they did everyone proud. Its good to see the likes of Vincents & Ferbane coming to the fore at underage in Offaly. Rhode, Tullamore & Clara have really being the dominant forces here for years. Added competition among the top ...

Re: joe dooley steps down
Best of luck to Joe.
I think he's taken them as far as he can go.
They've shown some heart & pride in a few gallant defeats over these last couple of years.
Somebody new might be able to take them to the next level.
As for a successor.
Babs Keating, anyone?......

Re: Offaly V Monaghan, SFC qualifier, 25/6/2011
- Niall Smith's excellent fielding. The Gracefield man is an expert - to the point that I'm a little surprised somebody in the AFL hasn't looked at him. Is he too small? I agree with lot of what you say Magpie. Great performance from Offaly. But I'd read the midfield duel a little differently. I th...

Re: Offaly V Monaghan, SFC qualifier, 25/6/2011
I’d like to extend my deepest contrafibularities to the Offaly players & management from last Saturday night. It was a great performance typified by the spirit which was embiggined throughout the side right down to the smallest man.

Re: Junior A Football
Maybe Kinnity might bother showing up for the semi final this year and could win out Ooooh, them is fightin' words me thinks, those of a bitter man. But I wholeheartedly agree. How about Ferbane at Junior A? Any chance of them featuring here? I'm just asking, because I dont really know. That aside,...

Re: Lowry
I entered this thread titled 'Lowry' falsely believing it was in relation to my good friend Mike Lowry, Mike Lowwwwry, MIke Lowwwry.
Clearly it isn't. I'm very disappointed. I haven't seen him in years.

Re: Best Clip To Sell The Small Ball Game
A rarely seen clip of John Troy hooking & dispossessing his Cork opponent at the same time and turning & firing a point over the bar. Pure quality. I think it was in the 1999 All-Ireland semi-final defeat to Cork, although I'm open to correction on that.
Anyone remember this?

Re: 11 Years today
That was the day Meath modelled their own new jersey, sporting extra-short sleeves. This must have been a request from Giles as up to this point he had been rolling up (or cutting) his short sleeves to give the jersey more of a guernsey look as in Aussie Rules. To the best of my memory, this is the ...
