Young to quit over suspension
Yet another man refusing to take his punishment. http://www.hoganstand.com/ArticleForm.aspx?ID=118466 OK we are not 100% sure of the facts here but at the end of the day the trend continues where a player is doing all he can to overturn a suspension. Threatening to retire is as childish it gets. But...

Re: Leinster club hurling draws 2009
i m not sure if we re on the same wavelength. our senior champions are playing in the intermediate championship in the hurling.. Yellar I'm aware that ye are in the intermediate championship but thats no place for the senior champions of a progressing county like Carlow. They need to be in the top ...

Re: Leinster club hurling draws 2009
I cant believe that the Carlow champions are not in the club championships. Carlow teams have given a reasonable account of themselves in the 15 years in Leinster club games. I remember Birr struggling 6 or 7 years ago against St. Mullins (I think) in DCP one November Sunday. Who are the morans that...

Re: IFC
Fair play to Walsh Island. They have been training away hard and have had a very professional attitude (this will stand to them in senior) in the last 3 years. They weren't going to be caught out this year. They will have momentum next year and could well emerge from their group....they should avoid...

Re: Offaly's 2010 NFL Fixtures - Provisional
Tullamore was kind to us last year, but the away form was dreadful so thankful for the home games at least. Theres little to suggest that we can win any of the 3 away games at the moment. However Cribban talked after the Wexford defeat how Offaly would need to bulk up and do some serious training al...

Re: Offaly's 2010 NHL fixtures - provisional (read it and weep)
This is exactly what this team needs. Offaly must look on each league game as being championship matches. They must go out and leave everything on the pitch. Dooley must try and get a settled team. How else can the lads progress unless they play the best around on their patch. We've been away from ...

Re: Brosna Gaels
does offaly have a intermediate hurling team that takes part in the all ireland series? Unfortunitly not. We had a team about 15 years ago, although that may have been a junior team?? Didn't make it to any games this weekend........but well done to Brosna Gaels indeed, they were great again by all ...

Re: All-Ireland Senior Football Final
Another fake All-Ireland final. Kerry were beaten months ago and that should have been it for them....back to club football. But instead they play a few poor teams in the much loved qualifier system and progress to and win another All-Ireland. Whats wrong with people that can't see how how utterly f...

Re: Changes to playing rules
Another good one I think. Straight yellow card for any player (would usually be the goalkeeper in fairness) trying to influence, abuse or bully an umpire as he is trying to make a call on a score. Yes they get it wrong now and then but umpires aren't helped by fellas screaming and swearing their hea...

Re: Football championship relegation
I totally welcome discussion on this. The 3 team group just doesn't add up. Yes people might say Shannonbridge have had 2 chances now to save themselves and they have but I think that fact that they will most likely go down because Edenderry only have to come within a few points of a team with nothi...

Re: Offaly All-Ireland camogie champions
Finally, could someone change the thread title to something a bit more dignifying than ‘chicks with sticks’ please? In fairness with a thread title like this is it any wonder our forum attracts some many pervs from the 4 corners of the globe looking to sell viagra and p*rn videos??  ...

Re: The Betting Thread
Offaly were excellent and would have given Cork a far tougher test than Kilkenny who looked poor and unfit (not much better than Waterford). I assume Offaly will be senior next year??

Re: The Betting Thread
I'm going through the same thought process. I won't be backing it for obvious reasons, but the pricing looks way wrong. I do think Offaly were a fair bit behind in their training and they should come on a bit, particularly since Waterford pulled away a lot at the end of that game, but I don't think...
