Re: JULY 4th 2009

Football is at 2.30, hurling at 7. Busy day but at least it's just about do-able.

Re: Leinster U21 Hurling Semi-Final Kilkenny 0-18 Offaly 0-15

Those who say ground hurling is dead and that we need to run with the ball should be put away from our county teams for good. Offaly never hurled the ball on the ground randomly as some would like to think. It was taken in hand when it needed to be, played on the ground when it needed to be and ran...

Re: Offaly vs. Wexford match reaction

Just looked at the match for the first time on Youtube. 2. Banville was too much for Kenny this day, but he would have been a handful for anyone. Crafty how he made space for himself on both goals, but especially on the second one. In fairness to Kenny, Wexford were playing perfect ball into Banvil...

Re: COUNTY BOARD

They didn't, the voted against.

Our Central Council delegate however was in the postion of being forced to vote FOR the rules, as a member of Central Council. Whether or not that should be the case is debatable, but the county board delegates voted, as directed by the clubs, against the rule change.

Re: Offaly vs Wexford - Leinster Championship 30/05/2009

Just a quick one lads and probably a bit late for those that have done their previews of the game but the forwards are expected to line out as follows: Carroll, Brady & Molloy Dooley, Currams & Bergin. Not sure who's in what corner but it's supposedly Currams to start at 14 and Carroll on f...

Re: Pat Delaney's article in last Sunday's Programme

The full article.... I found the typos and poor writing more irritating than the actual content.... OFFALY WERE ALWAYS FIRST by Pat Delaney Laois and Kildare followers agree on very little, except their utter contempt for their neighbours in the Faithful County. Read the curse of Allen elsewhere in ...

In fairness, I started off annoyed by it, but I think it was pretty much tongue in cheek.

Re: Offaly GAA Website - Reform Needed

No doubt there's lots of room for improvement but just on the fixtures/results - as said already, clubs changing league fixtures willy-nilly is a big part of the reason fixtures are often inaccurate. There's a very good results system in place where secretaries text the score in and it's automatical...

Re: "Defeat" of the proposed rules change.

A big problem was the change would have undoubtedly suited stronger panels. Send off three or four Kilkenny players for yellow card offences and it probably wouldn't make a huge difference to them, but send off three or four Offaly players and where would we be? This point was raised at one of the w...
