Re: Walsh Cup 2019…ish

to be honest its very possible we could have had the very same set of results as yesterday against the same opposition 10 years ago...Offalys decline is since the 2000 AI hurling final and really since just a little after in football (we have to acknowledge we won Leinster in 1997 and league in 1998...

Re: Senior A hurling 2018

haven't been on in a few weeks, as I thought, Coolderry won the county final, they were the form team all year (bar the near collapse against Belmont in the SF)..Kilcormac had Killian Kiely in on edge of square but he seemed isolated in there, they then brought him out, the Midland tribune were on a...

Re: Senior A hurling 2018

Rynanghs lack of natural forwards caught up with them yet again, and not for the first time...they have no "out and out" scorer...Treacy from frees is all very well, most teams now have at least one/two good free takers...Treacy took a hit on Saturday and after being down for sometime had ...

Re: Senior A hurling 2018

I think Rynaghs might just get over KK..Coolderry will beat Belmont and win final also..I think!

Re: Senior A hurling 2018

Birr are just not winning county finals now, it happens all great teams, they go into decline somewhat, other good players will come up but balance wise they just may not be upto winning a county final. championship very up and down this year, Coolderry have been probably the most consistent team ov...

Re: Senior A hurling 2018

there is..let teams from up Birr/Banagher/Shinrone/Belmont even play their games in Birr...no financial benefit to the businesses in Tullamore people racing out the gate and gone to avoid the agony of queing in traffic for half an hour to get back somewhere near the Mucklagh side of Tullamore, then ...

Re: Senior A hurling 2018

Belmont would probably draw more support from the general Banagher/Lusmagh area if played in Birr, barring a fanatical Gael, if Rynaghs play Shinrone in Birr on Sat evening, they are not going to hop into their cars on the Sunday and go through the misery that is getting in and out of O'Connor Park....

Re: Senior A hurling 2018

absolutely no disrespect to the Senior B teams but barring the most fanatical fan, who is going to go early to see a Senior B QF before a Senior A, and as happens with Senior A, more than likely the crowd at the first game will leave immediately after their game if they have any distance at all to t...

Re: Senior A hurling 2018

Belmont V Birr in Tullamore?..not sure what both clubs would think of that, Ide say Belmont would be happy to play that in Birr/Rath/Banagher...long way to Tullamore only for one Senior A QF...

Re: Offaly Senior Football Manager

just was on Hogan stand there and seen the news, nice to have a big name manager, I know he hasn't been around intercounty management in too recent past, but it should give Offaly a much needed boost, lets hope he gets the support of the county board and the clubs and doesn't get fed up with the pol...

Re: Senior A hurling 2018

think its St. Rynaghs V Shinrone and Birr V Belmont, Shinrone will be very tricky for Rynaghs, while most will expect St. Rynaghs to come through, one just cannot nail down the outcome of that game, Shinrone will be satisfied knowing they can be in Semi Final if they could get over Rynaghs and that ...

Re: Senior A hurling 2018

One would hope that at least the Management and players of teams know the system/format/timeframe for the quarter/semi finals, I agree its unfair if they don't, one thing us the supporters not knowing but as you say players & management not known would be poor...

Re: Senior A hurling 2018

very hard to see how St. Rynangh's will beat Coolderry by 6/7 points if at all..I know Coolderry are through but its surely about keeping momentum going and not losing which can trigger doubts etc..Rynanghs are either not good enough/consistent enough from what I see...scoring goals is a terrible we...
