Re: Tipster competition - Round 3
(I meant to enter these Tipsters comps but missed the start. better late than never). These are all pure guesses though. Birr (F) vs Drumcullen (U) - Birr Kinnitty vs Seir Kieran - Seir Kieran Belmont vs Shamrocks - Draw Lusmagh (F) vs Killavilla (U) - Lusmagh Coolderry (F) vs Shinrone (U) - Coolder...

I repeat
Bit of a problem with these double posts. I got a Debug Error screen that made no sense to me (and I'm supposed to be a techie).

The Grassy Knoll
A conspiracy theorist on GaaBoard.com mentioned how suspicious he got at the start of the programme as soon as he saw that Michael Donnellan was actually in the studio. Of the other recent "Moments", only Davy Fitz was also there in person. Since they went to the trouble of getting "H...

Ah come on
I cant believe you've dropped Ciaran McManus. Any man who played Sigerson as long as he did will surely be around forever.
And sure maybe Sid will have come out of retirement by then.

I like that article; it reeks of good honest straight opinion and self-criticism. As a former keeper myself, I appreciate his position. When an outfield player makes a mistake, there is usually someone else whoat least has a chance to make up for it. But when a goalie makes a mistake, it usually goe...

Lord save us
I blame the Eurovision myself! :? The winner was (in my opinion) the most useless and innappropriate entry in the whole list. A half-forward is back out-of-position to pick up an easy pass in his own full-back line, then goes on an admittedly fast solo-run up the field. One good lay-off and return i...

Gnash those teeth
There can be few sounds as pleasent at a match than the rousing "OOOFallya" from the Faithful. Definitely the most distinct GAA chant in the country, but it needs a chorus to carry it. I'll do me best.

STOP THE PRESS
Fond memories of this great player. So many great inspiring performances. Unlike some others (who I wont name), Brian always seemed to manage to produce his best performances on the biggest occasions. Fair play to you Brian and enjoy your retirement. There wont be another Team of the Millennium pick...

When we worried about "The Dubs" coming to town
I'll really show my age now, but anyone remember the bad old days of the 70's when Heffo's Army had an unfriendly reputation? There were various stories of small groups of Dublin "supporters" who left a trail of destruction in some Irish towns after the Dublin team came visiting for games....

I would never like to suggest that crucial surgery should be delayed just to suit a ball game. That's when we have to remember that these lads are amateurs (and young ones at that) and there are more important considerations that should decide when the right medical assistance is applied. Despite th...

As always, a very good and comprehensive report from the Dorsal-finned one. One small request, particularly for the benefit of those of us not blessed to live within the Faithful county anymore and so are a little out of touch with the rising domestic stars (well that's my excuse and I think ...

New Rules
I agree that the new Football Pick-up rule is well worth keeping. I've been a long-time supporter of this idea as I think it helps to avoid a lot of scrappy play and gives a ball-player (as opposed to the tackler) an extra half-yard to gain clean possession and keep the play flowing. I'm more open m...

Shaper
How many Offaly/Clara players have had the "Shaper" tag bestowed upon them? They have all been from Clara, haven't they?
Are there any other nicknames that have had many "owners"?
