Re: Clara vs Edenderry 9/10/11

its not a case of edenderry management weeding out players making them play just football.as far as im aware some of the lads are playing soccer, according to the paper they were never banned from palying any sports all brady wanted was for the lads to train when they were training and play games wh...

Re: Clara vs Edenderry 9/10/11

Had a big spiel done out on this but then I realised it was poor in comparison to Magpies so I'll just say this. Both these teams are bursting with confidence, on a rich vein of form and have the work rate and ability to win this game. Edenderry's decision to make players pick either the GAA or noth...

Re: Offaly playing Laois in the Dublin SFC next Weekend.

I'm sorry but this is over my head, who from Offaly is lining out for these clubs? As for the point about them not being loyal clubmen, without knowing the full story (or even who the players are), unless you've walked a mile in his shoes I don't think it's fair to question club loyalty just because...

Re: New York 'Stuff'

I think we will unless there are some statistics, which I'm not even sure there could be because the whole knub of the matter is that they are not being reported. I'd again disagree with you on the attacking referees thing, for example, a number of years ago Michael Mahon was struck whilst refereein...

Re: New York 'Stuff'

Unfortunately these serious incidents appear to happen more often in our native games that in other games which to me are a source of great regret. Anyone who begs to differ on this is in denial. I completely disagree, I don't know why but for some reason the GAA always get far move coverage on the...

Re: New York 'Stuff'

Lieut Troy Dangerfield - what a name ! He had no choice to but to become a cop! Regarding the assault, I think it's such a fuzzy line, in a game where you have 30 (or in this case 26) lads playing an adrenaline, full contact game, it's only natural that sometimes it boils over. Does that mean that ...

Re: Former Offaly great Bryan slams modern game

If they don't it should be the same as not walking back when you win a free, i.e. brought forward 10 metres. I think it could work.

Re: Former Offaly great Bryan slams modern game

Personally I don't think the mark is much advantage to a team. If you catch the ball and then take a mark, it just slows things down and gives the opposition a chance to re-group and pick up their positions. In the modern game, the opposing midfielders and a couple of wing backs will just drop back...

Re: New York 'Stuff'

Good to see they are keeping the tradition alive of having one lad on the team in an older jersey :D Like Ferbane footballers, always have a couple of lads in guaranteed irish shirts  It's called staying in touch with your roots :D http://www.focusmeireland.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Guara...
