Re: Leinster JHC Club Final
Its the Junior 'Special' Leinster Championship. I think its where some of the weaker counties are allowed field their intermediate winners. Either way best of luck to the Reds......flying the flag for hurling in the east of Offaly

Re: Compulsory Hurling Helmets
what goalies will this affect most, I know the younger lads will b used to it from underage.... hard to see mullins or fox wearing a helmet next year... No cap no swim!! with hurling there is a mutual respect concerning contact with the head area and most injuries are purely accidental so would thi...

Re: tullamore v ballyhale shamrocks leinster final
There have been signs that Ballyhale are fully firing. They struggled against J.Stephans and against Oulart. OK they opened up against Ballyboden. Who would have thought a few months ago that this Tullamore team who were winless in the group (and until we knew the full extent of how dreadful Ballysk...

Compulsory Hurling Helmets
Well lads, in just over 5 weeks time every player taking the pitch at all levels will be masked up. Keepers and all. Must say it'll be a bit strange seeing club goalies with the helmet but everyone will just have to get used to it. Personnaly I'm in favour of it. There will be outcry early on but th...

Re: Vinny Claffey Interview on edenderrygaa.com
Is there? If just seems to be a journalist from Edenderry asking the question during a series of interviews (which by now are getting a bit repetitive and boring) with former players. Now that's outrageous. These interviews are superb and I for one look forward to them continuing I didn't say they ...

Re: Vinny Claffey Interview on edenderrygaa.com
There was an open letter in the Tribune this week from some guy in Capincur as well - I can't remember the name. I also think there's a bit of the classic bit of committee thinking going on here too, and people are starting to give the idea more air. (1) Something must be done! (2) This is somethin...

Re: Vinny Claffey Interview on edenderrygaa.com
There seems to be a lot of momentum towards parish rule at the moment. Is there? If just seems to be a journalist from Edenderry asking the question during a series of interviews (which by now are getting a bit repetitive and boring) with former players. I can tell you now from a grass roots perspe...

Re: Clara vs. Portlaoise - Leinster club semi final 22/11/2009
Obviously what Clara have achieved so far is very much worthy of respect, but it's still hard to ignore the basic facts here - this is a Leinster semi final against the team generally considered to be the best of the thirteen sides left in the All Ireland competition. (Galls are marginally ahead in...

Kilkenny given pass into Leinster semi
I've only stumbled across this now and can't believe that nobody else has mentioned it. I heard nothing of this? Its like something from an April fools day article! Seriously I assume all other 7 teams in the hat will be withdrawing from next weeks draw. The clubs in Offaly need to pressure the coun...

Re: Do more football clubs in Offaly need a plan B?
I was on the terrace side and thought the wind was fairly strong (it was bloody cold standing there too!). The goalkeepers did a reasonable job with their kickouts against the wind although Rhodes hung high in the air during the second half (i think the wind picked up a bit more as the day went on?)...

Re: Appointment of new Offaly Selectors
Very true! But its a pity because we could do with our second biggest town producing some footballers for the county panel but if they ain't there then they ain't there.True Red wrote:There would hardly be 20 lads in Edenderry willing to go and watch Offaly at this stage never mind tog out for them.
