Re: Next Offaly Senior Hurling Manager

I agree, Ex player looking to keep his profile up with newstalk and situation v Wicklow last year was shameful with our ref commentator contributions.

Re: Next Offaly Senior Hurling Manager

We need a bit of quality and continuity at underage, and I include U20. Declan Kelly for example has done great work with the 20s and another year there might set him up nicely to be ready for a crack at the Seniors after John Maughan. Similarly if Gary gets a bit of momentum with bringing through g...

Re: Joe McDonagh cup

This. I wasn't goingt to post anything about Saturday because it's still massively disappointing. But I want to draw attention to PJ's point. For as long as the work is not done at grassroots, Offaly will continue to produce teams who:- - are deficient in basic fitness (I mean the areas such as saq...

Re: Leinster Under 20 Hurling Championship

F..k sake! Sums it up really. No commentary on performance, matches , chances of a win etc , only pedantics regarding where the game is played. I'd love to add something from the Carlow game but I wasn't there, and know very little about the lads except anyone I talk to that does know tells me they ...

Re: Leinster Under 20 Hurling Championship

Sad when a football man has to acknowledge the lone furrow being ploughed by our U20's!

Well done to the players and management, and especially when they (maybe i'm wrong) were the last management team to be appointed this year.

Re: Next Offaly Senior Hurling Manager

So Pat, you want a manager to take on the role in Offaly at an all time low and expect nothing in return? We will struggle to attract a high profile manager anyway given where we are. But whoever gets the job and there should be a trawl now to find someone that fits the bill of working over a 3 year...

Re: Offaly V Kerry JMCD cup - can we win this game?

Just reading some of this while listening to the match on the radio.
Good start by Offaly, in the meantime Daithi couldn't even get to the match on time!!!

Peter Geraghty straight red ...Jaysus.

Re: Offaly v Sligo Round 2 Qualifier

Nonsense, we will win this. Time to cut the crap spoken here and produce consistency. Sligo had something to play for in that any team, even if down , wants to get a display going into the championship. We should have scored 3 goals in the first half and missed 3 or 4 handy point scores. We battled ...

Re: Offaly V Kerry JMCD cup - can we win this game?

Have we the balls to go down there and draw a line under everything that is gone before? Ball to the best man in space when we have the chance is what needs to be done, but can we do that? Best of luck to the lads, fuck the fear factor....Kerry are under serious pressure too...so punish, be ruthless...

Re: Offaly U20s Football

Serious performance by Cian Farrell, and well done to team and management. Westmeath were decent and with better free taking might have well won the game. Offaly missed some goal chances and turned over a lot of ball to Westmeath in the first 20 mins. A minutes silence was observed for Aaron Buckley...

Fair dues to Laois & Westmeath with the results achieved seeing them through to the final.

Be interesting final when is played.

Re: Joe McDonagh cup

He might have been pre contracted to do the commentary. But like has been said , this was a genuine chance to watch Kerry up close, playing Laois and looking at how they could be exploited. If said guys are serious about doing a job they should have been in Tralee and plotting from tomorrow. It smac...

Re: Offaly v London Football Qualifiers

20 mins without scoring in the first half is a worry. How a couple of forwards lasted as long as they did on the field was amazing. John Maughan clearly has 15 players in mind and no chance of certain lads being dropped. I do think he is doing a decent job and there were many decent performances and...
