Re: U20 hurlers 23
They at least learned their lesson from last years minor final in Nolan Park when they were letting in kids for free and the main stand was way over capacity. By selling the kids tickets they can now count exactly how many go in next Wednesday night.

Re: U20 hurlers 23
Its not a great venue in particular if poor weather is forecast with a very limited stand. Terraces are fine for adults and teens, but this will definitely turn off a lot of families attending as the small kids would see little of the action if there is going to be a big attedance. Likewise for the ...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
I was very impressed with how we worked our way back into the game after an horrendous start. Kildare had their tails up and there was a large support there for them as this was a major chance for them to get top flight hurling. Once we put a sweeper in it nullified their attack and we just kept in ...

Re: Offaly Minor Football and Hurling 2023
I agree with you to a point. But last year we were beaten well. We have a very good team this year but other years we most certainly would struggle but at least our players are been exposed to a very high standard of hurling. You're missing the point. Nothing to do with Offaly being strong this yea...

Re: Offaly Minor Football and Hurling 2023
10 point win in the end for the combined schols hurling team over Goiod Counsel. They will face St. Kierans in the final. I think its farcical really allowing a county team compete against schools. The players who trained all year for their school being denied a chance to compete for their school in...

Absolute shambles baby with the bathwater. When are we going to stop this ridiculous elitism Of university sport ruin the Punters (without us there There would be no gaa) I could not see Liverpool pulling out of the league cup Because they have a Lancashire cup game. Maybe it's time for no 20/22 ol...

Someone posted above that Ballinabrackey have a better backer (or something to that effect) than Sarsfields... while not fully up to speed with both clubs I would have thought Sarsfields with its big standing in Kildare would be better off financially than Ballinabrackey..I am of the opinion that P...

Re: League & Championship hurling 2022
It's all just semantics really wether you call it Senior B or Intermediate. It is the second tier of hurling in the county plain and simple.
We should have championships with 8 teams per grade based on the current standards in Offaly.

That only tells them how many are travelling on each bus being organised by clubs. There will be many thousands more coming along with parents.Pat Mustard wrote: ↑Thu Jun 30, 2022 2:03 pm All the underage clubs were sent a questionnaire and all kids going with there clubs are accounted for and being sent to a separate stand

Re: Minors hurlers 2022
I'm travelling to the game on my own plus two kids.
I was talking to another person travelling on their own plus 3 kids.
That is 7 prople going in on two tickets.
There will be thousands doing likewise.
This is an absolute monumental fcuk up on the part of the GAA.

Re: Minors hurlers 2022
The organisers are taking a hostage to fortune that the distance will thin out the interest. ' I was surprised at the arrangement. By all means allow children free, but make them need a ticket to give some sense that they are of monitoring what is being sold for each stand. At the Leinster final, t...

Re: Minors hurlers 2022
I think the ticketing structure is a little bit crazy for the final. There will be a huge amount of families travelling with kids for this game. As you cant even buy a u16 ticket you will potentially have a problem as the stands fill up if the GAA are planning to sell tickets up to or near the capac...
