Is it too late to negotiate now? With all the fuss over the Kildare subs issue, it looks like we've sleepwalked into a potential 6 day turnaround. Feck it, we accommodated Limerick hurlers by playing them on a Thursday night 3 years ago. We gave up home advantage to Waterford hurlers last year. It's...

They accommodated Kildare by twice pushing back Offaly's fixture against Wexford over a spurious objection, yet there's no budge on moving the subsequent qualifier back.

We're now being outnumbered at the odd home league game too!
The revival can't come quick enough.

Qualifier Venues Confirmed - bi-location may be required!

We could be playing in Clones and Ennis on the same day! Surely we won't allow ourselves to be shafted like this? http://www.hoganstand.com/Offaly/ArticleForm.aspx?ID=62854 The GAA have announced the times, dates and venues for forthcoming games in the 2nd round of the Bank of Ireland Football champ...

I spotted him in Parnell Park on Wednesday and he seemed to be in decent shape.
He never carries much weight.
He is one of our best options to solve the midfield problem.

Funny enough I was just typing up a piece on roughly the same subject this morning. I would disagree with Regan somewhat myself. You need to use ground hurling where appropriate. Here is a paragraph written by An Moltóir in 2001. And I think the point is still valid. The second key difference was Of...

Tipptops posted them on anfearrua.ie. I think home advantage might help the Dubs. Parnell Park is pocked with bumps and the grass is never short. If Offaly are going to play ground hurling, for the sake of adhering to the ground hurling mantra (millstone), we could see lots of scuffed and duffed str...

Someone said the odds for this game are:

Dublin 8/11 Draw 8/1 Offaly 5/4

Given recent records, I'd say that would be about right.

In Offaly's case, I think of players with a couple of years county experience haven't stood up to the plate at U21 level.

In both codes, performing well at U21 level seems to be a bit of a problem.
Maybe we read too much into the amount of senior county players we have on an U21 panel.
In Offaly they are more likely to get their game in the seniors, than everywhere else.

It's hard to know how Limerick's performance yesterday will affect things.
I knew they were poor, but never would have guessed they were that bad.
There might be a backlash, but the Limerick panel contains a few players with really bad attitudes, so hopefully we can turn them over.

That was some laugh with Davy Fitz! Especially the Clare woohoo at the end of his rant. It was brilliant that the tv picked it up.

It's wrong that he gets personal abuse thrown at him on the terrace, but that kind of carry on doesn't help his cause.

Dylan Hayden would be overage by now.
It's hard to get the hopes up about our underage teams, because Dublin have the knack of squeezing past us.

Not very thrilling stuff from Offaly. Gary Hanniffy did well at centre forward. Hayden and Tanner also. Sid added a bit of class to proceedings. Kevin Brady was the pick of the half back line. The two corners backs struggled under the high ball. Both of them had trouble rising the ball under pressur...

Lone Shark wrote:You have to ask yourself though - if we had won 9-8 instead of lost by that score - which could very easily have happened - would we really be making all these changes? (Albeit one enforced)
I think we would probably have had to, as it was still a very poor show.
