Re: Proposed change to age grades at both county and club level
The point is also relevant in Tullamore and in best interest of Offaly GAA, there should be more made of Tullamore. There is probably a market for a second club in Tullamore even though they could rightly argue they are closely surrounded by Durrow, Ballinamere, Cappincur, Clodiagh Gaels and Shamro...

Re: Club football championship 2023
"Glad to hear its on TG4" Hopefully this doesn't take away from the crowd, after a lot of whiging over the standard there were 2 very good semi finals and from what I seen of the Intermediate over the weekend there was great entertainment. As the GAA saying goes, nothing beats being there!...

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2023
Ah shur I could list names, but what I am saying is that there is pressure on Declan Kelly i would guess to look outside the core names that have been there for the last number of years to unearth 3 or 4 to compliment Keith O'Neill and John Furlong as 2 who will be new additions in terms of starters...

Re: Club football championship 2023
Senior A - Tullamore vs Edenderry Tullamore Rhode vs Ferbane Ferbane....but not too confident Senior B - Cappincur vs Ballycommon ...can't wait for this one, Cappincur based on experience Clonbullogue vs Gracefield Clonbullogue Intermediate - St Brigids vs Erin Rovers ....tough to call, but think Er...

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2023
Point is that there is potential to be better than where we are, we are far from maxing out the potential. There may be a year of pain if certain players need to be replaced but there needs to be a bit of a clear out to be had

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2023
We have 8 Senior clubs, we have a fairly competitive Senior B championship with another 8. And intermediate is very competitive. Our 4 Senior A Semi finalists should be operating at a higher level for sure as should some of the clubs like Shamrocks and Clara. But I think we are not too differnet fro...

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2023
An incredible amount of nonsense being talked here. Too much to counter individually. In brief, there is huge potential in Offaly football at the moment. The problem is not tempering expectation, it’s the exact opposite. It’s believing that, with the right preparation, we can be much, much better t...

Re: Club football championship 2023
In relation to the Intermediate and wasn't at any of the quarter finals, these went as would be expected to a large degree. Ballinagar by all reports made Pollagh work very hard for the win. Unfortunate for young Gallagher with the missed free near the end to send it to extra time but he stood up an...

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2023
The best of luck to Declan and the management team. It was always his job to take at this time and it is a big undertaking for him as he has a busy job also and has a young enough family. He has worked hard to get to this point with enormous level of success through ST Vins 3 in a row under 21's, CA...

Re: Club football championship 2023
I agree jiminy, there should be no relegation match, team finishes bottom and concedes a walkover should go down as is clear that in that season they are in a difficult place. But then I gues unless is in the rules of the commpetition then relegation game will take place. re Edenderry, heard that th...

Re: On this day 25 years ago
3 further "on this day" to look forward to from a GAA & hurling perspective.
But the on this day in the midst of that will be the Omagh bombing. A day of pure horror that won't be forgotten as the true scale emerged through that awful Saturday..

Re: U20 hurlers 23
Regardless of the reasons, both clubs agreed to play the following day. Surely playing is better than conceding? Clara bet B/D 3 17 to 1-16. So they agreed that 13 out of the 15 should play a championship match the evenin after a heavy nights drinking? FFS....no wonder the GAA is seen as rogue with...
