Re: Kildare vs Offaly - 2009 Football Championship

I agree that Kildare aren't better than Offaly in talent /skill terms, but in relation to that game they ticked more boxes than us. The physical conditional and strength issue is one that is going to have to be addressed right now, not some time in the future. Just looked at Meath V Dublin yesterday...

Re: Kildare vs Offaly - 2009 Football Championship

http://www.offalyindependent.ie/sport/results/articles/2009/06/05/40345-physical-power-rather-than-football-ability-gave-kildare-edge-over-offaly/ This one? Good article, yes, but a bit too dismissive of any talent Kildare have. To say Offaly were beaten just on size & conditioning is a laugh. ...

Re: The Leagues

Seems strange to arbitrarily break a 12 team division in two after only 6 rounds of matches. The 'rumour' is probably due to the fact that the Offaly GAA site doesn't show any fixtures in the near future. I think they have to sit down and plan another traunch of matches.

Re: Pat Delaney's article in last Sunday's Programme

It opens “Laois and Kildare followers agree on very little, except their utter contempt for their neighbours in the Faithful County. Read the curse of Allen elsewhere in this publication to see how Kildare regard their neighbours around the Edenderry border and a perusal through the previous meetin...

Tubber - Fair Play

Played a match in Tubber last night, and given the weather we had the last week, they had their grounds in magnificent order. The dressing rooms are first class, the pitch was mowed & marked, and had repairs done and the whole grounds in general were sparkling. Just giving credit where it's due....

Re: Kildare vs Offaly - 2009 Football Championship

One of the key lines will be the Offaly half-back line. John Doyle will be picked in the corner but will roam around and Mike Conway will carry ball from his back line so there will be a lot of action around the Offaly 45' line.

Re: time to show why we are called the faithful

I think they will and I'd be surprised if we don't make the flourbags revise those ridiculously arrogant predictions once or twice during the game. If you were a Kildare supporter, would you not be confident given the relative form so far this year? Can you blame those posters for being positive. O...

Re: Shane Lowry in the Irish Open

Having been involved with Club Golf for a long time, I remember maybe 7/8 years ago getting my ears burned off being told stories about this young lad out of Esker Hills by the then Club Secretary & Captain, Liam Boland and Paddy Murphy. There's great pride in seeing young lads doing well, when ...

Re: Lá na gClub

And there's only about a dozen properly active sites running in the county. Each club in this day & age should have one. It's not rocket science, as they are free if you use the standard GAA one.
