Re: Joe McDonagh cup

we will leave Tommy there in fairness to him hes doing a great job.. You don't think Tommy Byrne is a good chairman - we get it. There's no doubt that there are serious black marks on his tenure, and everyone (myself included) would like to see a contest for the position in November, that's a viewp...

"Thank these people for their time and efforts over the years, but it really is time things changed on the board. If you want to act in the best interest of Offaly GAA, then step down honourably and give the opportunity for real efforts to be made to get the best people leading us out of the m...

Re: Leinster Under 20 Hurling Championship

Lads complaining about very few from the south on the team should really take a step back and ask themselves what the hell are the traditional hurling clubs doing so. Maybe its time they got the finger out and put in a real effort in developing the players. It is worrying that the likes of birr, coo...

Re: Joe McDonagh cup

Bottom line is county board has to be held accountable for the absolutely abysmal standard of Offaly hurling. And football isn't much better. They are the ones who have the power to put structures in place. Every manager that comes in seems to have negative comments on their dealings with them. COMM...

Re: Joe McDonagh cup

Best of luck to kevin. he took on a very difficult job. a good guy. If Offaly are ever going to tackle the problems that are there, id hope there is a major cleanup on the board. If managers of teams are being made accountable for these performances, its about time the head of the county board was m...

Re: Joe McDonagh cup

Offaly will go into both games with Leix and Westmeath as underdogs. No question about that. We are where we are. Talk of the lack of proper promotion of this competition is valid but Offaly have much bigger things to be focusing on. Let the organsiers worry about the competition. Offaly need to jus...

Re: Joe McDonagh cup

http://hoganstand.com/Article/Index/297915?county=National Interesting to see Offaly are now perceived as being lowly ranked at 14. Below Laois, Westmeath and Kerry. Its probably hard argue with that to be fair. As sad as it is to say, but Laois and Westmeath are strong favourites for the upcoming g...

Re: Joe McDonagh cup

https://hoganstand.com/Offaly/Article/Index/297358 Who agreed a contract for a coaches services to end at the end of the league? A clueless agreement regardless of whether he walked himself or was pushed out when the contract elapsed. As subtly pointed out earlier, Loughnan and the country see Offal...

Re: Transfers

Personally I cannot understand lads transferring away from their home club. Especially in this case where the clubs are so close to each other. If a player was moving a couple of hours away then yes if you have a family and time travelling doesn't suit.

Re: NFL Division 3 2019

Survival was all that mattered but still the performance standard is still very very low. A few of the more senior players are not performing well and really need to pull their socks up. Correct me if I am wrong but yesterday, no player from Edenderry, Ferbane or Clara started. 3 of the biggest club...

Re: NHL Division 1B 2019

Fitness levels have been poor with our county teams for 20 years or more compared to other counties. We had a lot of very skilful hurlers and naturally bigger men back in the 90s and early noughties which allowed them be more competitive. Now we don't have as skilful hurlers or footballers, we don't...

Re: Leinster Club Hurling

Carroll drove the hurl into # 2's ribs. Straight red card. Brady clearly pulled across the keeper. Straight red card. Corcoran threw a punch at the Ballyboden players head as he was coming out with the ball. "To strike or attempt to strike". It was harsh but technically straight red card....
