Re: Club football championship
Well if the winners of the 1st v 4th quarter finals are seeded then if they both win then Clara and Rhode will be kept apart in the semis yeah!

Re: Club football championship
Clara 1-13 Gracefield 1-07. The scoreline suggests a somewhat even game but the truth is these teams are operating at totally different levels. Clara hit the woodwork on 3 occasions going for goals and realistically should have raised at least 5 green flags. The impression on the terrace between bot...

Re: McDonnell in running for Offaly football job
Well he's setting his stall out early at least, saying the things we want to hear.
Only time will tell if he can follow through with this ambitious plan but best of luck to him.

Re: Club football championship
Anyone having a bet? Rhode - Evens Clara - 15/8 Edenderry - 15/2 Tullamore 9/1 Rhode and Clara unbackable at those prices but will prob be the County final pairing. No value in Offaly but as someone who is based in Carlow I'd tell everyone to back Eire Og to win the Carlow championship. 7/2 fourth f...

Re: Ratings of County football teams
Depressing stuff alright. And its probably not far off the mark, although no doubt we'd beat London. But after that I can't see many teams we'd beat. A friend of mine was telling me he brought 3 Tipp lads down to minor football training who are in college in Carlow, and enquired who were the 30 youn...

Re: Offaly vs Cork - SHC Qualifier Rnd 2 07/07/2012
Had my mind made up. Not gonna travel to watch us be hammered. But...... as the hours tick down I'm putting diesel in the car and planning where I'm gonna celebrate the win. Amazing what loyalty and reminiscence does. Nobody gave us a hope in 98 and we bet Clare. Nobody gave us a hope in 99 and we l...

Best of luck to Robbie "I'll bite ya" Kelly and Seanie "where is Straffan" Johnston in the qualifiers.

Re: Offaly versus Kildare 16th June 2012
I know there is no citing process in the GAA like in rugby but I do believe that our County Board and the management team should kick up a bit of a fuss about this. The GAA need to be aware that this incident happened coz it certainly won't be in the refs report. It's not sore losers or anything lik...

Re: Offaly vs Galway 17/6/2012 LSHC Semi Final
The amount of handling errors yesterday was mind boggling. I lost count of the number of times Offaly players fumbled or dropped the ball. It bordered on ridiculous. Kevin Brady and Brendan Murphy both fumbled the ball whilst on their own, giving Galway players opportunities to get in and challenge....

Re: Offaly Vs Wexford 2/6/12 Leinster Championship
Between Marty Morrissey and co last night and Davy Fitz in the Star today it would seem nobody is giving us much of a hope in tomorrows game, except the bookies perhaps. I find this hard to fathom considering home advantage and the quality of the 15 named. I'm struggling to remember a first round ga...
