Re: training 2008

You would be in a minority on a training field in Clara with black boots on your feet. The rest of the lads would be wearing white, blue, red and even a few yellow pairs for the lads who went to Ard Scoil Chiarain in their youth.

The book was chosen from a short list of six which ...

Organising information

Offaly and Loneshark this ones for you in the main but if the rest of the lads here would like to weigh in feel free. Is there any chance that you could put up a few stickys to organise important info? Loneshark's 'betting thread' is one that I would look up frequently but unless he or somebody has ...

Well done Tullamore. I feel more than a little sorry for Shamrocks all the same. We saw a master class from Daly at centre back and McConway played well. The wing forward (12) tackled like his life depended on it. Neville played well for Shamrocks. Barry came into it when he was needed. Lenny was al...

Maith an Fearr LS. A well thought out proposal there. It is definately time for a bold decision on the future of the Senior Championship to be made. Is there a case for the same kind of system to be used in Hurling - POTH?

Not much training goes on at J C level. Tubber would be regarded as favorites looking at their results this year. The Hurling lads might get their attention swayed in the next few weeks which could help Ballycumber.

Regarding John O'Hara from Clara.

Is this the same John O'Hara who was involved with the Dublin minors a few years ago? His father is a Clara man but he was raised in Skerries. He is strong, quick and has potential. Hopefully he will get involved with the county scene later in the year.

This is more like it lads, a good debate without the grandstanding and disection of the most miniscule points I've seen on this site recently. As for Dubs fans well this can explain a lot about the Hill - A Kerry man in the Dubs lair: http://www.independent.ie/sport/gaelic-football/dub-for-a-day-fun...

Was McAneaney really that bad?

I just finished reading the post about the Jacks and the impression I got off it was that Pat McAneaney in the Dublin Meath game had a bad day out in Croker. Now I wasn't at the game but he looked like he did what he always does. He gave the benefit of doubt to the team in possession. Many, many tim...

DD is right. The curve of the stand means that a full size GAA pitch cannot be accommodated and you cannot move the pitch away from the stand as the border of the ground is up against a development but you could play underage games there. In fairness Thomas Davis have very good grounds and seem to m...

Good man Muck Savage you have hit the nail on the head.

I detest red tape and officiating but I think in this case a regulator would be a very good idea to avoid player burn out.
