Re: Junior A Football 2018

Kilclonfert 4-19 Harps 1-05

That's Kilclonfert and Gaels into Semi's from that group. No surprises there.

Looks like Rhode & Clara in the other.

Re: Junior A Football 2018

Heard rumours this week of an objection by Ballinagar into their defeat at Clonmore Harps, as it is "alleged" Harps fielded an U17 player under a different name! How this came to light is the player in question was personally known to many of the younger Ballinagar players who knew he was ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football Manager

It's hard to see if any on those listed could 'inspire' any more that what has gone before.

The system they have to work in is the real problem!

Re: Intermediate Football Championship 2018

It's got to be up to the CCC to decide on this one. I believe Brigids have asked for a resolution and for the W/O to be scratched. One to watch as it will affect who qualifies for semis or Q/Fs in this division.

Re: Intermediate Football Championship 2018

Clonbullogue v Shannonbridge - Shannonbridge St Brigid’s v Doon - St Brigid’s Ballycommon v KK - Ballycommon Daingean v Tullamore - Daingean Shannonbridge won by 1, tighter than I expected. Brigids easy win as predicted. Ballycommon plenty to spare over depleted KK Daingean score 2 late points to f...

Re: Intermediate Football Championship 2018

Just looking at the Offaly GAA website. I note that St Brigid’s gave Ferbane a walkover. Does anyone know the scéal on that one? I noticed that rounds 8 and 9 are being played as opposed to rounds 3 and 4. Would that have anything to do with it? I believe St. Brigids have written confirmation of a ...

Re: Senior A Football 2018

By all accounts Cappincur absolutely threw this one away at the end. Couldn't kick a point from 20 yards several times.
Looks like Rhode V Tullamore, not much else shining?

Re: U20 football championship

If I'm not mistaken, Offaly ran Kildare close at U18 two years ago, but look at the difference 2 years later. Kildare went on to a good win over Dublin. Hopefully the Faithful Fields development will lead to better improvent in underage teams. Kildare put their money into Hawkfield 10 years ago and ...

Re: U20 football championship

Agree with what JimBob says above. Bit of a difference in class between the teams. A lot of players tried hard and put in a good effort, but I'd be a bit more critical of the sideline at times in that Rohan's kickouts in the first 10 were gifting Kildare scores, very slow to change. Kildares No.14 w...

Re: U20 football championship

Meath ...... 1-13
Offaly ..... 1-12

Seemingly a great effort in Navan from the Faithful, arguably against the favourites in this competiton.

Durrow(0-8) v (6-13)Ferbane
Spoke to a mate who watched this and said Durrow looked completely out of their depth in this Division.
Going by this, it does look like they will struggle...

Re: Intermediate Football Championship 2018

Ballycommon V Ferbane - Ballycommon, just. Revenge/redemption is a mighty force. Bridge v Brigids - Bridge all the way. Brigids not as good as I thought they were. Daingean V KK - Daingean should be comfortable, K/K look disinterested. Tullamore V Clongullogue - Depends on what players the blues hav...

Re: Junior A Football 2018

Clara, Edenderry, Rhode, Harps, Gaels for the wins here. As ever a very open championship.
If the likes of Clara/Rhode/Edenderry can hold onto enough players not lost to senior teams and if Birr/Lusmagh/Gaels get enough footballers not focused on hurling, these will de deciding factors. Interesting.

Re: Intermediate Football Championship 2018

Clonbullogue 1-12 Daingean 1-17 Lee Dempsey Vs Shane Tierney show. As predicted. Shannonbridge 4-19 K/K 2-9 One sided, K/K strggled to field a team, Bridge withdrew 5 players, hence some late scores for KK. Ferbane 2-10 Doon 3-7 I presume not much between these. No reports. Brigids 2-08 Ballycommon ...
