Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2023
2022 attendance was just over 5,100. This figure was announced at the game. (That media figure quoted by POTH is incorrect figure given by the media). Official figure announced at the final in 2022 was 5,793 . I've it scribbled on last years final program. Not sure why lads are trying to claim ther...

Re: Offaly Senior B Hurling Championship 2023
Lusmagh failed to fulfill a single league this year if my memory is correct.
Anyone know why?

On that front, I read today that Duignan will finish up as Offaly chairman next year. Any shouts for who should be next?

Re: Club football championship 2023
Can't understand Rhodes tactics from Saturday. You've got the best forward the county has seen in 40 years in the county in your ranks and you play him tracking opposition players up and down the pitch. He was ran into the ground. Had they isolated him and Anton in close to the goal they'd have won ...

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2023
Any word how long Emmet Nolan will be around for?
He'd be hell of an addition to Johnny Kellys squad for next year.....or is that just wishful thinking?

Re: Club football championship 2023
Gracefield were 100% correct in what they did. It's clear cut that they were right and the CB got it wrong on this occasion. The CB have been given a free pass on this error by the local media and thats fair enough people make mistakes and they are volunteers at the end of the day. You can't help bu...

Not the first time Michael Duignan has come out on top against Tommy Byrne.

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2023
Don’t think either team will be over happy with simons reffing, won’t say too much only when there was an incident in injury time he could have at least blown the whistle to get it to stop rather than just standing 5-10 feet away. The couple of previous times I seen him ref I thought he was excelle...

Re: Offaly Intermediate Club Hurling Championship 2023
Drumcullen 1-20 Edenderry 0-11, Edenderry lacking scoring forwards again and hit 5-6 wides from frees. When Edenderry returned to hurling in 2020 putting up big scores has been the reason they won 2 championships in 3 years. But today their main scorers are missing....no Cian Farrell, no Dave Hanlo...

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2023
Niall Rigney will drive those Ballinamere players bananas before the year is out. Yep thats Niall, seen him in sideline action plenty of times a few years back. So no stone will be left unturned in terms of preparation and by God they'll be fired up. Here's the thing.......the constant commentary f...

Re: U20 hurlers 23
I'm with the county board on this as well. You have to be careful setting precedents. What am I missing here? Game at 7:30, over at 8:50......the ladies will still be applying the fake tan so still plenty of time to get to the venue. Quick shower having won game! Put on the skinny suit and white tra...

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2023
Martin I don't think was ever going to be the man to take over full time but fair play to him for his efforts since Liam Kearns passing, he performed the role with great dignity. It's almost 2 months since Offaly's exit from the Tailteann cup and the club championship is well in motion. Do we know i...

Re: Offaly Intermediate Club Hurling Championship 2023
Re fixed again now I see, it’s now in Birr even closer to Carrig and further away from Edenderry. Arrah they may as well go the whole hog and play it in Thurles! Playing it at a main venue like Birr might lessen the blow for Edenderry but still it's a shocking mileage imbalance whatever way you loo...

Re: Offaly Intermediate Club Hurling Championship 2023
Edenderry V Carrig/Riverstown is on in Kinnitty on the 22nd of July. Now how in the name of God almighty is that a fair venue distance wise? Why not fix the game for Rhode for Clonbullogue so. That's now an essentially away game for Edenderry. I assume they'll contest this? I thought every effort wa...

Re: On this day 25 years ago
Sure we can poke fun at ol Babs all night if we want. But a mere 20 years after his rant Offaly were deemed so poor they were no longer even permitted to participate in the Leinster championship, a situation that remains to this day. Keating reckoned they weren't listening, were running around aimle...
