Carroll Lashes County Board

Carroll lashes county board Offaly's Brian Carroll 24 June 2009 Offaly hurler Brian Carroll has blasted his own county board for entering into a home and away arrangement with Wexford. The counties agreed to toss a coin for home advantage for last month's Leinster SHC quarter-final with Wexford Park...

Re: ALAN MCNAMEE.

Yeh he played a big part in that alright and strong play by him but thats a rare moment in the last 2 years. I actually think Pat Roe has played a big part in his failings. In 06, when we got to the leinster, i thought super was very good. His distribution was crucial that year into the forwards. Bu...

Re: ALAN MCNAMEE.

Agreed LS, Firstly, I'm not pretending that my first concern is Alan McNamee's best interests. Of course I wish the guy all the best, I've never met him but I'm sure he's a grand lad and all that stuff, but my first concern at heart is the well being of Offaly football, not Alan McNamee. As for the ...

Re: ALAN MCNAMEE.

lone shark - did you leave portlaois wondering why alan wasnt introduced? last year and indeed this year people are calling for alan to be dropped yet after 20minutes in the last two championship games people are asking why isnt he on. No one was calling for his introduction around us anyway.I reme...

Re: ALAN MCNAMEE.

I actually would still have him on the county panel as its pretty obvious he has the respect of his fellow players and perhaps with some hard training and some direction he still has something to offer. Though not on current evidence. Roy Malone was gone from intercounty scene when he still had some...

Re: ALAN MCNAMEE.

offaly with alan are an ordinary / poor side anyway. offaly without alan are a lot worse. simple as that. im not knocking any club or intercounty player in offaly either. In my opinion, Niall Smith, Declan Kelly, Ciaran Mc, Joe Quinn, P Sullivan. are better options at midfield for Offaly than super...

Re: ALAN MCNAMEE.

Some thoughts on Alan McNamee...I first came up against the colousus from Fahy Hill way back in 1994 and since then, whether good or bad performances I would think that he is head and shoulders above the rest of the midfielders in the county. Since the retirement from inter county football of the G...

Re: We don't have the players lads....

I think everything that has to be said, has been said already. But in my opinion, coming out of Portlaoise last Sunday whilst we were shocking.. I was a happier man coming out of there last Sunday than I was a year previous against Westmeath and Down. Last year was bad management and bad attitudes.....

Re: Pat Delaney's article in last Sunday's Programme

I have glanced over this article at the match Sunday and it was obvious from it, the spite and bitterness i have come to associate with some Laois followers and in particular their journalists. Bitter people who we have to put up with at the border here claiming greatness because they have won A lei...
