Re: Intermediate/Junior A/Junior B Hurling 2020
Good thread to have. Some fine teams at all levels here. Finals predictions Inter - Shamrocks V Coolderry Junior A - K/K V Clodiagh Gaels Junior B - Edenderry V Lusmagh My opinion on all of the above could easily change after the next round of fixtures Very glad to see an adult hurling team in Edend...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2020
I'm actually disappointed with the fixtures. Purely from a personal point of view. Was quite happy when I seen the group we were in, but was really hoping for an away trip to Sligo and Derry. And hopefully make a weekend of it. But alas home fixtures for both of these. A trip to Aughrim just isn't a...

Re: Offaly U20s Hurling
Big game for the U20's tomorrow evening. Just looked back at the results of this age group from minor to get a handle on the some of the Dublin team. Dublin Results Beat Laois by 3 points Beat Wexford by 3 points Lost to Kilkenny by 4 points Beat Antrim by 15 points Lost to Cork by 4 points As for O...

Re: Offaly v Leix Round 3 Qualifier
Yea, that's like being told 'you wouldn't understand'. So try us, John Horan, we're smarter than you give us credit for. I didn't see the draw, but it appears Westmeath were the fifth team drawn out, then Leix were drawn. Leix had to move down to the next tie, then Offaly were drawn. So it appears ...

Re: Offaly v Leix Round 3 Qualifier
Arguing about getting a home game when nobody bothers going to O'Connor Park seems trivial. Not quite as bad as the hurling thread where half the comments are about playing in Birr while the senior team is freefall, but still seems pointless. Portlaoise is close enough to make it feel like a home g...

Re: Offaly v Leix Round 3 Qualifier
First of all fair dues to the Offaly Senior Footballers. Very well done to the panel and management. On the draw for the next round, I have to agree with other posters that the exact detail of who gets home advantage on the Offaly Laois game seems very vague to say the least. I listened this morning...

Re: Joe McDonagh cup
My thoughts are done with the greatest respect Greenairfield. Some of my comments might seem a little harsh, but really they're a back handed complement to what Birr contribute to Offaly and I guess I'm just trying to outline that I think the birr club are key to success of Offaly hurling. When Birr...

Re: Joe McDonagh cup
Birr dont even train for football and have reached junior finals and semi finals and almost went senior about 7 years ago what's your point?? North Offaly people are just as arrogant when it comes to south clubs playing football. We need everyone doing well but if the so called traditional clubs ar...

Re: Joe McDonagh cup
I am very aware there is voluntary work which goes on in OCP but as you said it's not all voluntary which is quiet a big difference towards other fields around the county. Personally I found the timing of the article quiet interesting but maybe that's just me. Joachim and the management did look fo...

Re: Leinster Under 20 Hurling Championship
I wish that team all the luck in the world against westmeath...but to be honest I'm worried about where we are at hurling wise. There is very few south hurlers on the team and people have to start asking the question what has happened? For me taking hurling out if birr has had a knock on affect whe...

Re: Joe McDonagh cup
Haven't posted in a while. The whole situation we find ourselves in is disheartening. I'm not going to add any further to what has been said about the various issues. I hope Joachim can instil some confidence back into the group in a short period of time. Please god he can steady the ship and have t...

Re: Leinster Club Hurling
Attended the Ballyboden Clonkill game last night. I have to say I was really taken aback by Clonkill, who fought tooth and nail. To sum up, Clonkill should have won the game in normal time. Missed some very scorable frees and conceded an awful amount to Paul Ryan (one or 2 were dubious calls, but mo...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2019
I think Fanning is a good addition alright. He's been involved in a pretty successful Tipperary apart from last year. Keeping good continuity is good also I feel. Despite being relegated to Joe McDonagh last year, I felt that last year had more encouragement than many of the previous few years. Beat...

Re: Leinster Club Hurling
@Wing Back, does Coolderry parish border county Laois to the east, and if it does, what club is on the Laois side - is it Camross? POTH....Up around Ballybritt church, the Coolderry boundary is very close to the Laois Border alright, but I'm pretty sure that Killa Villa and Kinnitty (Roscomroe whic...
