observin the practise game vs nuig last saturday showed that offaly management have intentions of playin franks in the backs, where he lined out half back.. tis all fine playin at club level in the forwards but when presented with a challenge vs connacht ( and a poor outfit on the nite) he was found...

best of luck to cathal in his retirement.. a pure gentlem, on and off the field.. always wore the Offaly jersey with pride! he was always to the fore when offaly played.. (esprecially stuck out from the crowd with socks down and shin gurards on!!!) :o fondly remember waiting on the side of the field...

i remember only five years ago the competition was run-off by easter! rynaghs and coolderry won titles playing against one another which were definatley in the Spring. have to agree with providing good basis for which 21 selectors to pick a panel! would make sense to revert to this structure, but ou...

think we'd be better off with honest committed hurlers like hoctor, k brady, carroll, b whelahan, j bergin etc. that wouldnt give up no matter what! people have said that we'd be better off giving youth its chance and I gotta say I agree! once we establish a panel with a core of hurlers willing to g...

wouldnt have teehan in the corner, he's caught if his man turns him.. probably better suited to the half back line, thats why id try verney there.. parlon at corner forward is fine once he learns a bit.. great athlete and tryer but shooting can let him down at times..cant really argue with the rest....

Only one team is relegated from division 1 hurling, so relagtion will only happen if they lose the play-off as well, which is highly unlikely!! what difference does it make what matches they win (down an obvious exception),as long as they compete well in all. Last yr they reached the q-finals of the...

he's not... serious talent, but unless he stays off the liqour he's not gonna be an HONEST addition to the team.. very hard call to leave him off, but I'd rather have honest team players at this stage than individuals, if you've been watchin him closely at club and county lately he's been far from p...

excellent preview lone shark! have a funny feeling we've seen the best of this Birr team.. and what a best it was! without doubt the greatest club team of all time we witnessed over the years.. Birr are completely written off for Sunday, a prospect which I would usually see go in Birr's favour, yet ...

got to agree almost entirely with what you said... particularly regarding issues of when players are talking back to the ref.. captain only is a fair point, but my only reserve if you've a corner forward as captain and say an altercation occurs in your full back line, a long trudge down the field en...

need to add..
is joe bergin a viable option at centre back? very good 4clareen there all yr! i know ur takin him out of the forwards, but maybe a direct swap with R Hannify?
newcomers woth a try are Verney at corner back& derek molloy at corner or wing forward.

Joe Brady has prob been one of the most consistent centre back in club hurling over the last few yrs, cant understand Coolderrys persistance with playing him full-forward. he is there to win high ball, but yet never sems to do just that! R Hannify is our no1 choice in the no6 position & rightly ...

tis a fair point, however I do believe this system is one of the fairest I've herad of in a long time considering its run over two months with ample opportunity to impress or give an indication of their committmnet to county training. Although on the other hand, sometimes you got issues with fitness ...
