Re: Brian Gavin
Congratulations Brain, he deserves this IMHO, he always tells you what the free was for straight away, doesn't take any sh*t, and allows the game to flow as much as possible. He'll definitely let both teams hurl which should make for a great final. Hopefully he's completely anonymous!

Re: New York 'Stuff'
Its hairy enough stuff out there – most of the lads care more about :- a) Settling a score of old. b) Settling a score from the row on site or in the pub last week. d) The session later on. Do you have examples to back up those statements? (Not getting into a Hoganstand slagging match, or as it's n...

Re: Offaly Club Championships: 4 teams from 6 is too many
For me the sequences of events were as follows: 1) GAA wants to increase exposure and revenue => Setup the Backdoor System 2) Backdoor System leads to more intercounty games spread further through the year 3) In conjunction with backdoor system being developed, county board implements groups => more...

Re: Division 1 League Results.
Anyone know why Ballycumber had to play Clara and Rhode, Edenderry? According to the table it should have been Rhode V Clara and Bally V Edenderry?

Re: Offaly V Limerick SFCQ 09/07/2011
Yet another example of how the Dual player is being punished, and forced to choose, by an association whose main purpose was supposed to be getting players to play the game. An unsurprising joke.

Re: Players off to the states
As far as I'm aware they can play for their club the day they land back in Ireland, the only restriction is that they can't then go back out and play for their American club. i.e. in the case where Tullamore is the players' registered club. Tullamore>New York>Tullamore OK Tullamore>New York>Tullamor...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurling Management 2012
I am going to phrase this question in such a way that ensures no lawyers need to get involved! Can anyone provide me with any managers, either managing their own county or another county, who are just doing so for the declared, legitimate expenses? The exclusion of any names from this list does not ...

Re: Toughness in Football
I would also agree with him on O'Gara's red card. The first one was perhaps soft enough but he had been warned, he had fouled three times, so it wasn't way wrong - while the second one could have been a straight red - O'Gara knew the ball was gone, eyed up the man and took him out. Agreed In genera...

Toughness in Football
Well folks, just wondering what the thinking was on the Dublin\Kildare game in general but more specifically the foul and the end and the whole area of "toughness" Football. Personally, I think it was a foul, I know the ref wasn't giving them all day and you'd like a bit of consistency etc...

Above all however, a tipped hat to Richie Dalton... he could find himself wearing the captain's armband within a year or two. Have to say I'm disappointed with the Sun like commentary here. I personally don't think Richie's good enough for the Offaly team, I have nothing against the lad, don't know...
