Re: Offaly hurling manager??
Half the lads on here cant even spell never mind discuss the pros and cons of managers, the state of Offaly hurling etc. And yes I know you will throw it back at me that 'spelling isn't important, it's hurling knowledge that's important.' Well maybe that is true but coming on here and spelling every...

Re: Offaly Club Hurling C'ship 2016
The poster that said Tipp only have to worry about hurling sums up Offaly GAA at almost every level...attitudes are still in the 1980's. Then everyone goes back to the Birr v Tullamore debate. Pointless. Nobody discussing the new group being headed by Brian Carroll entrusted to lift Offaly hurling. ...

Re: Offaly Club Hurling C'ship 2016
Dish out the fixtures and let people make plans with their families n play all 6 games between Friday and Saturday. Simple as.. 100% agree. These fellas are trying to tell us that they can implement a long term plan for Offaly hurling yet they cant organise what is happening in 8 days time. That su...

Re: Offaly Club Hurling C'ship 2016
My problem is Offaly are knocked out since the 9th of July (11 days) and we still making fixtures on a week to week basis. Exactly. Also this 'weekend of' business is a joke. Surely the board can sit down and set fixtures for the next 6-8 weeks. Not so much venues but dates at least. There is a hug...

Re: Offaly Club Hurling C'ship 2016
When is round 3 fixed for? Website says round 3 tbc. It was somewhat understandable earlier in the year that it was difficult to set fixtures with county team still playing. But now there is no excuse and still no fixtures. It's an absolute shambles. Fix the remaining 3 games now and let club player...

Re: U21 Hurling Championship.
I have reservations over Langton. And he was 4th sub on last night which questions the managements faith in him. Give the lad a chance. He was minor last year so he may not even be 19 yet. He was the most effective player on last years county minor team, scored a huge tally when Na Fianna won the m...

Re: Offaly Club Hurling C'ship 2016
Options as I see it: Option 1: Reduce Senior to 10 teams Format: 2 groups of 5. Top team into semi finals. 2 and 3 against each other in quarter finals. Bottom team in each group face off for relegation. Start c'ship in July and work through to mid September. Option 2: Create Senior A and Senior B. ...

Re: In support of Offaly hurlers and footballers
I believe the players are doing as much as they can but the county as a whole is not working anywhere near it's potential. Yes, Offaly is a small county but it is also a disorganised county and this is where the real problems lie. There doesn't seem to be any overall plan and if there is I would lov...

Re: Allianz Hurling League Roinn 1B 2016
I agree allstar2010 2016 league objective completed and onwards from here. The 1st, 7th and 22nd is the focus now. One month of prep and hopefully get a few players like Wynne and Mahon back into the team. Need to top this group and then its Galway OCP on 5th of June. League quarter final on April ...

Offaly Club Hurling C'ship 2016
Have the fixtures been made for cship yet? Lads are saying that there are two rounds still down for April.
That's only 3/4 weeks away. Anybody know dates or who playing who? All a bit ramshackle at the minute.

Re: Allianz Hurling League Roinn 1B 2016
Not being harsh on anyone but 16 possessions for Gorman seems incredibly high. If you took 10 off that you might be closer and still too high. Where did those stats come from?

Re: Initial Offaly Hurling Squad
I know they are all doing gym work the past 4-5 weeks. Also played a few challenge games. I'd imagine Kelly will bring a much different approach to Whelehan. Was involved in a lot of 3rd level hurling before going to Kerry so would be very in touch with what a modern young inter-county hurler would ...

Re: Initial Offaly Hurling Squad
All very quiet on this thread. Is it because nobody knows who is involved, nobody is interested or are we on a 'tell them nothing campaign' before blitzing the country from January onwards?
