Re: Offaly versus Kildare 16th June 2012

Looked promising for 10 minutes. Once Kildare started to get hands on the ball and runners from deep we were in trouble. Fitness levels became abvious about 10 mins into the second half. Another big difference was the willingness of Ke players to run and run while we had a few who jogged or stopped ...

Re: Offaly's dual players

Plain of Herbs

U might ask around about Paddy & Meath

(Now when he played for Dunboyne he might well have been double-jobbing, not unknown back then. Micksie Palmer of Kerry claimed to hae played in almost every county and he wasn't on his own !!!!)

Re: Offaly's dual players

and I have to admit that my info on PJ came from a source very close to www.uibhfhaili.com Just happened to see his name listed as kerry footballer on Weshie Fogarty site earlier today. Had an idea & just needed to check it and checked it out before passing the info to Kerry so a coincidence it ...

Re: Offaly's dual players

Gents 31 ? P J McIntyre, played both in 1965 and later played both for Kerry ? Paddy McIntyre from the Forties ( was he an uncle to PJ and /or a brother of Mick Mack?) lived around Dunboyne and I believe played club there. Anyone know if he played for Meath in hurling or football. I think he played ...

Re: offaly v kildare, and seanie johnston

johnb123 I also live in Kildare and was involed in GAA there. I know a lot of the Kildare lads including 2 who live less than a mile from me. None of them have any egos or notions so forget than old rubbish and lets concentrate on winning on Sunday even if they are roaring favourites. As for the All...

Re: Offaly versus Kildare 16th June 2012

Offaly have to, as usual, play without fear and I never yet knew one that feared Kildare. Now I will have to travel from Kildare and no matter what happens I will see it through to the final whistle. How I would "luv it" if I could travel back with a smug smile not saying a word !!!! I fea...

Re: tom coffey new offaly manager

Best wishes to Tom Coffey who has taken on the responsibility. Lets hope everybody, County Board, Supporters and of course the playersgive him all the support he needs. Kildare will be a big obstacle (living in the place for 39 years I know the effort put in) but Offaly must get that, "No Fear&...

Re: Hard Luck to Gallen

Just not Gallen's day. So many little things went wrong, a stray kick here, a a handpass there. Possibly beating Cookstown in the semi last year took the edge off. After all that Cookstown were awesome and were well deserving their win but 2 Leinsters and an All-Ireland for most of this Gallen side ...

Re: U21 Football Management

As has been said, dropping 4/5 into the keeper's hands and hitting the posts twice in the first half was vital. It left Louth a bit further ahead at the break than I felt they deserved. Now why when a ball hits th posts do forwards have turned their backs is a killer !!! One was a goal chance if for...

Re: Coolderry's long and winding road to Croke Park

4 or 5 Coolderry players were too easy pushed off the ball. Then they are the younger lads and should get stronger and more experienced over a couple of years.

Well done on making it all the way to the final.
